Literally as of two minutes ago, I just completed my museum in new horizons for the first time in any of the Animal Crossing games ever!!!

Even though I played new leaf for a degenerate amount of hours, I could never complete the art exhibit.

My last donation was the vampire squid :,,)

I have no idea what to do now,,,,, maybe get all the models?

Congratulations! That's so cool :^)

I've never completed one museum lol. I've gotten close, but I've always gotten bored of my town or disliked it and reset, so they've never been 100%. In my current new leaf town I'm actually quite close though, but I've fallen off playing for a while so it'll probably be even longer before I finish it

Exactly how it’s been for me every other time, I’m fighting the urge to reset as we speak ahahahahah

And thank you !!! ^_^ I feel proud ahahah

I have once.. then I had to restart as I got a new switch and didn’t realise I couldn’t just ‘hop back on’ 😭 I’m currently done with all the art and fossils just all the creatures now!

Congratulations on finishing the museum. I finished it for my main island. I still have a ways to go on my other 2 islands. I may or may not try and get them finished.

Unfortunately, no. I have not gotten far enough in any of the AC games to do so. However, I actually just posted a topic about setting goals for Animal Crossing (across different installments). One of my goals across all games is to complete my museum. Maybe goal-setting will help me stick with my towns and island for a while. ^_^

Congrats on finishing your museum! It takes some hard work and a little luck to get those last few you need sometimes

I have completed the museum I believe in 2 Animal Crossing games. Still need a few pieces of artwork in New Horizons, but it will happen someday!

Never completely, I don't think... I think I got close in my old New Leaf town, but there were some diving critters and artwork missing iirc..
Probably the closest I currently have is in Wild World... I've completed my fossil exhibit! I have most bugs and fish, too. I have over half the paintings, and getting the rest is just going to be a time and luck issue.
My real challenge is going to be catching a scorpion and tarantula for the bug exhibit, as they've constantly eluded/terrorized me throughout the Summer months every year (they are SO HARD to catch in Wild World!!!!). I always get so close—! But no cigar.

I only ever managed to complete the Fossil Exhibition in NL, WW, and NH. I don't consider completing the museum as a top priority when playing Animal Crossing because it can be time-consuming, especially when collecting artworks. Though congrats to those who've managed to complete it.

Only the fossil exhibit. I'm a chronic restarter, anyway, so often my towns/islands aren't around long enough to finish the museum.

Though I will say once, many, many, many years ago, I made a post on a now-defunct AC forum asking if the Stego Skull was somehow rarer than any other fossil in WW. It was the last fossil I needed in that file. I don't know/remember if City Folk was even out at that point, it was that long ago. For sure pre-New Leaf.

Having said that, I have a few files I'm trying to keep. A forever island on ACNH called Seastar, and some towns in older AC games that will all be called 'Home', after the first town I ever played in. [It was a friend's copy, and she named her town 'home', so I tend to reuse the name]

My goal for Seastar + the towns of Home is to complete the museum, plus some other stuff- like make custom designs, or customize the town tune, or get villager photos. Stuff like that. I even have a notebook with a list of all the donations I've made, among other things, like when a villager moved in and whatnot.

This is interesting, because I think the Stego Skull was the last one I needed in my WW town as well! This is all anecdotal of course, but I definitely noticed getting certain types of fossils more often than others. I assumed that the game must randomly assign certain dinos to be rarer in a given town, and others more common, to encourage playing with friends. But now I'm wondering if the Stegosaurus is just rare period, lol

that is interesting! It was a long time ago, but I remember the answers I got to that old forum post was that it was just me getting unlucky... but now I'm wondering. I remember feeling like some fossils were more common than others...
