Have you ever been robbed/attempted to be robbed/witnessed a robbery?

when i was 18, i worked at a convenience store for like a year or so, towards the christmas season, there was a number of our stores being robbed and we didn't think we'd ever get hit because i lived in such a small town and the cops were visiting often.

well, we got robbed.

i had just clocked on for my night shift when the dude came in in a bright red jacket, with sunglasses on at 9 o'clock at night and he had his hands in his pocket and if you looked down there was just a huge ass hole cut out and you just see the end of a handgun sticking out and all he said was, "empty the register" and so i did. but i had JUST made a huge drop so i didn't even have 50 bucks in the til so it's not like they made away with a lot. it was over and done with in under 30 seconds, and the guy was actually caught later that night. fun times, fun times.

When I was 13 we had just moved in to a not so great neighborhood (there was a house burned down on our street) and after a few months of living there, we came home to find our locked door busted in. They took our new tv and dvd player, some of my mom's expensive clothes and jewelry and some other things. Thankfully they left mine and my sister's room alone for some reason. It was just so creepy cause they left some of my mom's underwear laid out on the bed >.< they caught the guys later on when they tried to rob someone else. I've never seen a robbery though.

nnoo, never gotten robbed or seen anyone being robbed. don't know what i'd do,,, if they had a gun i might ask them to shoot me because i want 2 die lmao : p

i've had my phone stolen, but thats just about it. its primarily my fault bc i left it out on a bench in the locker room while i wasn't present

I had my mobile stolen twice cause the PE teacher left the locker room open when we had a lesson outside.

I was at a buffet with my friend, and when she went to get food I stayed at the table to watch our stuff. As I was sitting there, WATCHING MY FRIEND'S PURSE LIKE A HAWK, some random guy just walked over to our table very suspiciously, picked up the purse and turned to walk away. In complete shock, I just yelled "Um, excuse me!" and he put it back down and walked away quickly.

...I don't even know what that was. Probably the worst attempted robbery in history.

Back when I was moving houses in 2010 or so, my parents bought one of the newly built homes down the neighborhood. I don't know the details nor do my parents since no one was home, but apparently the burglars went through the front door, stole a flat screen TV, a playstation 2, my DS and Gameboy with nearly all the games, money, and some jewelry. At that point, my parents just sat there and cried as I pondered why only our house was affected.

Our neighbor (who we didn't associate with) tried to get into our house by jumping across the second floor balcony since both of ours were pretty close together. I caught her trying to open the sliding glass window when I was in the master bedroom. When we confronted her she said she was trying to ask my dad for a cigarette (obvious she was lying). Her housemate told us that she was bipolar, but I don't think that would cause anyone to try and go into people's houses through the second floor. I'm so glad we moved out of that place.

your story sounds familiar

Oh, when I was in High School I set down my big af old school iPod, like the OG iPod video that was like an inch thick, in the locker-room during Gym and someone took it. Lucky me it was a cheerleader and I saw her using it the next day and I confronted her, she denied that she took it, when literally nobody else had one of those outdated pieces of crap. I told the gym teacher she didn't believe me because cheerleaders and people in sports couldn't get in trouble... so she literally kept like using and looking at me and smirking and I wanted to curb-stomp a ***** because that was my ghetto af iPod that my sister's boyfriend gave me, and being poor and not able to buy another one just made it hurt more. =[[[[[

i wouldve beaten her azz up

Nothing serious, but I work overnights at a grocery store. People apparently steal all of the time, but I honestly don't even pay attention, because I figure if the company won't even hire security overnights - they don't care enough, and neither should I. lol (it's a company that most certainly could afford it, I'll just say that.)

The only one I actually caught was some months ago. I saw this lady come into one of my aisles. Me, wanting to be by myself, I move to the other aisle to work. I come back around some minutes later when she had left, and I noticed that there was an empty case of a curling iron stuffed in my cardboard. I say stuffed, but it really wasn't hidden at all. It was very obvious. Lol.

This obviousness drove me to actually take action and go up to the cash register manager up front. I don't know if anything came out of this, as I saw the lady wandering around the store (before she would have been caught) with the curling iron casually in her hand along with other items that wouldn't be suspicious. She probably got away with it. Oh well.

before i was born, when my parents were cohabiting, my dad left the back door open and someone came in and stole my dad's shoes.

Remember how a long time ago car radios used to be removable? Yeah, well my mom had one of those in her car a loong time ago. Overnight someone broke into the car, like broke the windows and doors and stuff and stole her old radio. Thankfully that's all that's happened to me with robbery.

i never realised that was the case. i got so confused listening to car radio by twenty one pilots. i thought someone must have hacked at the car and removed the radio chunk.

we were robbed once about 7 or 8 years ago. i remember feeling really shaken up at the thought of someone rifling through my possessions including really personal things such as my jewelry and underwear, they even messed up our family photo collection. that especially creeped me.

then i remember going into the bathroom and i saw they had put my vanessa carlton album in the toilet and honestly i found it pretty funny

My sister was held at gunpoint one night a couple years ago and forced to give the guy all her money

Nah. The worst I've had is my brother's bike was stolen when we were kids. He went to the library and parked it at the bike rack but didn't lock it up. It was gone when he went to leave. That was his fault, really. He had a bike lock but was too lazy to use it.

In 2010 I had a fight with my roommate and got locked out, so I stayed with some relatives, that night while my roommate was working a group of people came and stole everything, took all the furniture, computers, games, dishes, my cloths and even family photos.. I had nothing, the neighbors apparently thought we were moving or something so they didn't think twice about the thieves. They were never caught we had nothing to go on, and shortly after my roommate and I moved and went our separate ways.. In 2011 I had to scare away some robbers, I couldn't get to the phone so I pretended I had a loaded gun and I was yelling at them that I was going to shoot if they didn't leave and it apparently spooked them enough, I was watching some kids at the time in any other situation I probably would've run.. I've also witnessed someone breaking into a car and getting it started, they even managed to throw it in reverse but apparently the engine killed itself when they put it in drive so they tried to bust up the car out of anger or something..

I used to work at a Taco Bell near my house, so I would usually ride my bike there and lock it up behind the dumpster in the back. One day after work, I found that the lock had been cut and assumed that it had been stolen, but the worst part is that a security guard left a notice a few days later that they'd cut the lock because it was "illegal" to park a bike there- and just left it there for some random person to take! I was so mad at the time, haha.
