I stopped playing ACNL in favor of ACNH. However, that has since changed. I got tired of the repetitive recipes, furniture, sticks from shaking trees, lack of buildings and NPC’s in ACNH. So I returned to my town in New Leaf. ACNL gives you so many reasons to return again and again. Unlike ACNH where the only main attractions are terraforming and putting items outside.
I’m getting back into ACNL slowly. I’m restarting my town really soon so hopefully I’ll be having more fun with it. I’m still upset that ACNH doesn’t have light brown hair, and at least ACNL does.
I have new horizons and had been playing that daily since I got it in April. Since new leaf got a little stale and it felt like there was nothing to do. Unless I left my character in the corner of the map and hoped someone came over to give me a public works I wanted.
But I started playing less of new horizons a few weeks ago, not because I was bored or didn’t like the game. But I’m more so waiting for a season change to get items to decorate my town with. (Plus I didn’t want to hunt for villagers since NMT grinding is a pain)
I’ve been playing a lot more NL since my friends have started to get into it aswell and we’re able to talk & hang out without the membership issue.
I don’t know, I feel like AC gets more engaging if you have other people to talk/play with. But that’s just me.
A lot of people--probably myself included at one point--talk about how Animal Crossing is the game they play to unwind after a hard day of work. Well, I've been assisting some family members with their children's distance learning program lately and... well, let's just say it's been a hard few weeks, and now would be the perfect for time to use Animal Crossing to relieve stress. But every time I think to do so, I find myself too lethargic to even bother picking up my 3DS... even though it's literally less than two feet beside me.
I haven't played New Leaf since the day I began to play New Horizons. Part of the reason is the circle pad of my 3ds broke off, and its plastic snapped in two, making it impossible to glue back on. The other part, though... I love the freedoms granted by New Horizons so much, that whenever I think of what I could potentially do in New Leaf, it feels, like a major hassle.
Like , maybe I want to plant a cedar tree/shrub in a new spot. Oh wait, I can only buy a 3 starts per day, and they each hog one spot in my inventory...
How about new public works projects? Oh wait, I must choose a spot very carefully, as building it takes a day, and demolishing it takes another day.
How about a nice run around my town? Oh wait, Grass deterioration - walk slowly.
Maybe I want to refurbish a furniture item. Oh wait... Cyrus takes 30 minutes to get it done, and I have to check the internet for a preview to see if it's what I'm after.
Maybe I'll let a villager go to get a new one. Oh wait... 10 days for the move, and uncertainty of move ins means I have to place path patterns all over the place.
Maybe do some shopping to buy something new... Oh wait, I already have most of that furniture and clothing in my catalog.
The only thing I may do if I come back is talk to villagers, redecorate my home a little bit, and maybe check Tortimer Island. But otherwise, I feel like I've played the game to death, and would rather utilize the freedoms granted to me in New Horizons. -.-
A little. I’ve been playing new horizons mostly, but I do miss new leaf. I think a there’s a lot more items in new leaf to decorate with. Initially I had planned on making my new horizons town match my new leaf town, however that’s becoming a bit hard since I’m lacking items. The rooms I try to recreate don’t come out the same.
Yesterday I couldn’t be more annoyed with my town. I was feeling uninspired and frustrated with how everything was. Mostly with how overgrown with flowers it seemed. And then with how the PWP placement didn’t work at all. Finally with the entire left stretch of my town.
I was so tempted to restart from ground zero and just delete my entire town. Start from no money. No tools. No RV outfits. Most importantly, no time travel.
But then I remembered how I spent so much time collecting outfits to unlock Gracie’s, how I have sanrio outfits that I adore, and how I am so happy with my look and kitchen.
So I decided to do a soft reset—raze everything to the ground on the left stretch of my town and gonna clear away all the flowers I’m not using. And maybe do a giveaway with the hybrids that I’m not using.
