Have Scorpions and Tarantulas been Nerfed?

I know I'm supposed to hold down A with my net and sneak up on them when I see them. Held down A as soon as I saw it, and it just ran and attacked me. Is it because I was too close to it, or did their behavior change for the Welcome Amiibo update?

try creeping up to it slower, and wait for the hiss. whenever it hisses, stop creeping but don't let go of A. continue until you're close enough. that's all i really remember for catching them.

there's tons of guides to catching them on youtube as well which can be helpful. i've never heard of anyone say that the WA update changed the method, so i assume that's a no.

I managed to catch a scorpion last night by luck, it looked like it was going to fall in the river. Tarantulas however I’ve been really unlucky with because I dont see them quick enough and boom I’ve been bitten.

Don't try to keep your net out. If you see one, walk towards it slowly, and make sure your net is in your quick select. The Tarantula and Scorpion become provoked/aggressive when you have your net out. Once your close enough take out your net. One of the three things may happen.

1. The won't see you

2. They will turn around and hiss

3. They may attack you

Number 2 is most likely to happen. Hold A to sneak with your net and hopefully you should be able to catch one!

I know how you feel, I've been trying to catch a scorpion for so long, and I caught a Tarantula like 3 years ago. Apparently if you donate both to the museum, they fight. (Thats pretty much the only reason I want both lol)

lmao I'm the complete opposite! XD

I have great luck with catching tarantulas but I suck at catching scorpions! lol (I'm still trying to catch one XD)

I started a new town and saw both in the same night....but I didn't have a net yet...now that I have one, haven't seen either.
