you know, to do the campsite trick. and then return back to current time? who has done it? if so, what are the things that should be considered... do your villagers get mad at you for always being absent / relationships with them drop / you're unable to join some events?

i'm lowkey considering it to get dreamies that don't have amiibo cards.
i don't wanna resort to buying nmt's on eb*y just to bid here for some of them

I have only time traveled 3 times to kick out villagers and then go and pick up dreamies. I haven’t noticed any problems besides lots of weeds. I don’t think villagers should get too mad as long as you keep talking to them every day as you timeskip.

I did! Nothing bad happened. I only skipped a month though and then went back again and repeat until the end of next month since I didn’t wanna spoil any events / seasons. But I made sure I sold all my turnips first so they won’t spoil. Besides that, there’s no repercussions. The villagers didn’t even accuse me of TTing because I was doing 6 days then day by day until a camper shows up.

i see. because i've been reading this guide about that 'campsite trick' and it involves time traveling and skipping a week (for better chances of camper), and that could go on for months if you didn't see the villager you like

you got lucky then, because if it's just a month, you're like able to find the villager you wanted for like the 4-5th camper?

I've done it once and the main downsides were:

1. Weeds
2. Flowers turn into weeds as well (basically they become as abundant as weeds and are 10x more annoying to get rid of)
3. Your mailbox is spammed with letters and gifts

im an unashamed time traveler, but I personally don't like to do it en masse to try and move people out / get other items / etc. I kinda lose interest / feel burnt out when I treat the days like a chore and do more than 1-2 in-game days in a single irl day. I did it much more early on when trying to unlock terraforming since I wanted to jump into designing, but I try to avoid it now unless I'm feeling really impatient and have a good reason. I'm finding that I enjoy the game taking it at a slower pace now that I don't feel rushed to unlock terraforming :)

oh right didn't think about the letters at all... thanks for the heads up! i didn't know about the flowers turning into weeds? bc i assumed they'll be ok as they don't wilt anymore. so you could basically lose your hybrids is that what you're saying?

Short answer: I've travelled upwards of 50 years to cycle out all my villagers and find dreamies. Nothing catastrophic has happened.

I did TT too much by complete accident, and the most I got was them being like WOW where have you been? But then they are like ''ok welcome back, let's talk like you never left''

No, she's saying that flowers become so abundant that they become unwanted and overgrown like weeds. They don't actually become weeds.

Just wanted to say Beastars is great. Have a nice day.

another thing that i'm curious of. so let's say you did tt for years, so when you head back to current time and play again... does this mean you won't get campers anymore for the days you have already played?

as the guide mentioned this:

“I’m not getting any campers!”

You can not find campers on dates you have already Time Traveled to. So if you jumped a few months looking for turnip prices, you will not get campers on these dates. They need to be dates you have NEVER been to before. This includes traveling backward, too. You must always go forward in time.

oh jeez, that was airhead moment for me.

I did it yesterday for the first time. It was Sunday, I had alot of NMTs and nothing to do on my island. Said I wasn't going to time travel but I really just wanted to island hop for villagers.
So I time traveled someone out. I had a villager mention they haven't seen me in awhile and got a bunch if weeds but that's it.

I unlocked the nook mile achievement for days spend playing and it kinda bothers me cause now I have 50 days played on may8th and 100 days played on may 3rd.

That was a bug. That has been fixed since the latest update.

This was patched so now you can find visitors when you time-travel to dates you already travel. This makes it more convinient since you can basically cycle through a month and never get spoiled of seasons. I did this for days and works as it should!
Basically, you travel 7 days forward from your current time. Then, one by one until you get the announcement for a visitor. Check the visitor, if it's not who you want, save, go back to real time, open the game, save, then do it all over again.

ohhh thanks. that's good then! yeah i'll just do the month thing and won't skip too far ahead. and repeat.
you guys have been very helpful!

If you're TTing and trying to get a villager to move out, I'd recommend taking it one day at a time. That way, villagers don't seem to mention your absence so much. Keep in mind, using this method, once you find a villager who wants to leave but it's not the correct villager, your can quit without saving, go back to your original time and then go back to the date where a villager wants to leave and it should be a different villager who wants to leave.

yes you're right, if i were TTing to get a villager to move out i'd do it day by day, but now i'm just doing it to get a campsite visitor. my current villagers are fine, i'm looking for villagers that don't have amiibos, and i'm not gonna try to island hop. i'm over that sick & twisted game, when i could just do the campsite trick for free. (both are tedious and will take so much of my time anyway)

Nope, I got all my dream villagers in a matter of only 7 weeks.
