We've all heard of the people who lock up the island, and cut down the trees. Who has been really nice to you on Club Tortimer?

I've honestly never had a bad CT experience, and I feel very fortunate.

I can think of two particularly nice people. One was a Japanese player who was feeling very generous and gave me close to a million bells even though I was just running around and acting like a doofus. The other was a very nice twelve year old girl who gave me a top hat after I mentioned that I loved the Professor Layton series. Neither asked for anything in return even though I repeatedly asked how I could repay them.

Anyone that doesn't ask for FC's or ask to buy stuff I am wearing is good in my book!
You wouldn't ask a random person in the street if you could buy their dress, would you?

There are two occasions I remember quite well <:

First one:
I chose the "International Waters" option, and braced myself as I only know 2 languages; the person who arrived at the island began to speak in French. I had only taken a little bit of French in high school, so I could only understand small snippets, but he began talking in English after realizing I didn't quite understand. We talked a lot about AC:NL compared to AC:WW, and he was overall very nice and talkative. He accidentally sat on a chair before I did on a tour, so I never got his FC :< (kind of saddening)

Second time:
A person named Hannah arrived and she was overall very nice and talkative. We did plenty of tours (I think enough for ~50 medals) and she was very polite and not mad at all when I didn't hold my own on the tours! She left after she got her wetsuit, and that was that.

Not exactly "donations" or gifts, but they were very pleasant to talk to on CT.

One person I met was very polite and understanding when I explained my shyness and anxiety, then played through three Tuna Kahuna tours with me - together we managed a gold ranking each time.

Other people have been pretty kind, and I've only had one or two bad experiences. (Those were D/Cs.)

No-one's ever given me anything, and I've certainly never asked. That's not the point of CT, though, so I'm satisfied just meeting nice folks.

I had one wonderful person, wish I remembered her name so I could publicly thank her, she had buried treasures all over the island for me to dig up. Anything from bags of money to gifts and pitfall seeds. We had tons of fun while I found all of the hiding places she carefully had hidden her loot. She even took off her awesome outfit and hid that in the end to extend the game. I had a wonderful time!!!! I hope to pass on the good fortune some day and do this for someone else.

I've had some good experiences. If I can find people to tour with, I consider it a successful trip. I actually met two good AC friends on CT.

I mentioned this once, I went to the international island and spoke to this Japanese girl with pretty good english, she asked me if I needed bells and told her sincerely I sure would be happy when I went islanding for bugs/fish and earned some xD she drops 500k for me and says you're welcome. That was the kindest visit I ever had on CT:D

I was screwing around on the CT international island and this guy was trying hard to be creepy, and he kept saying, "We're going to die." So I responded, "In the Sylvia Plath existential ... way? Yes." At that point he laughed and said, "Oh man. LOL, I failed! ... Want to do some tours?" And we ended up running about 4 tours together before I had to go. He didn't troll me or act like a jerk. Pretty much I'm happy when folks will go on tours with me. They're more fun in groups.

I met a girl just yesterday who I went on a few bug tours with. I caught a lot of bugs and she told me I was phenomenal. Then she took the crown off her head, gave it to me, and left. I thought that was sweet.

Another time I met someone who asked me to help chop every tree. I did, and she then covered the whole island in bags of bells. She even let me fill up my pockets when she was done. She was just bored I guess, but we talked the whole time.

About a month ago I met a 7 year old who just wanted to play house. She dug holes for the walls and put fruit inside her "house" and paid me 100 bells to keep the grasshoppers away from her fruit. She told me I was a good servant, lol! Sure, it was only what you can get shaking a tree, but she was sweet.

I've had a lot of bad experienced on CT, but enough nice ones to make it worth going back.

Lol aw. Sometimes I feel like a weirdo when I realize another player is a lil kid but then they do cute things like this. Actually talked about hockey with an 11 yr old on CT, she was wearing a Habs jersey. I asked why she cheers for Montreal when she's from Alberta and she said because Edmonton sucks. xD

I've never had any stand-out awesome experiences on CT but I usually don't hang around very long. Done quite a few tours with others now, some of them were also pretty cool to talk to afterwards. Whenever I go to the international island I end up with people from the UK for some reason lol I haven't even met a Japanese player yet.

One of my best long-distance friends who I talk to on Skype every day I met through Club Tortimer almost a year ago :) He recognized the Pokemon outfit I was wearing, we started talking, and I found out he needed some sci-fi set furniture. I ordered it for him and he's been a very helpful friend to me ever since!

I've also met a kind Japanese player who gave me close to 2 million bells without me asking or anything.

Finally, I recently met another new friend who let's me visit his time traveling town and buy Gracie things and catch/fish and bugs that aren't available in my town.

So yeah, while I've had plenty of not-so great experiences, visiting Club Tortimer for me has been worth it!

I agree. Lol. I had this one girl beg to buy my pants. I said she could catalog then she says she'll get the bells. She then tried to leave. I flipped the switch. Nobody gets away with stealing my pants!

I've met some pleasant people, but I've always been the nicer end of that spectrum. I always end up giving something away, or maybe giving someone the bells to finish their home. I like pleasing strangers. Thank yous are nice.

I like to give people maybe 20, 30 Million Bells. The other day I went on and ended up giving that much to a person. I've maxed out my bank account, who cares how much I have now?
