Has anyone found Pete?

During about 5:00 P.M. all the villagers who talked with me were all saying stuff about Pete, and about 2 minutes later i found him walking along my town :O

But there was no slingshot in the gamecube version o.o
lol...so how could you shoot him down? I have shot him down in WW so i do know he is real.
He walks around in the gamecube one, and also city folk
