Ok so when I connect to pss on oras it takes much longer to load than in xy does anybody else experience this?

yes. sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's slow

this is just me assuming, but since ORAS sold a lot more copies than X&Y the slow connection time may be because there are a lot more people on the server then before. Not to mention players using X&Y use the same server, so there's probably twice, if not more, as many people trying to connect, which is probably why it's slow.

It's due to the Passing By features. When you connect to the internet, it not only loads in the players, but also their Super Secret Bases, Mirage Spots and various BuzzNav news items. X/Y didn't have any features like this, so it just loads instantly.

When you go online on the PSS quickly in OR/AS, it just means that your cooldown is still running. The cooldown lasts a few hours (I'm not sure exactly how many, still trying to find that out myself), after which you can load up the PSS again to get more Bases, Spots, etc.
