I'm curious as to how many other people haven't gotten their hair cut in a long time. Due to the pandemic I know many places have been/are in lockdown so I'm sure there's more of us than usual.
My area was locked down back in the spring but has more or less been open with restrictions since the summer. Since opening again hairdressers have been allowed to work again, but I've personally not bothered. It's just yet another risk and I personally don't find getting a haircut worth said risk. But that's just me.
My last "real" haircut was probably about a year ago now. Though My Mom did trim the ends a bit for me back in the spring she is by no means a hairdresser and the cut was mediocre at best lol. At least I was working from home at that point.
My usual style is a straight roughly shoulder length cut with no bangs. Right now it's several inches below my shoulders where I could easily wear a high ponytail or bun if I wanted.
I trim it occasionally myself but my hair grows so slow it's basically sideburns I've to care for and sometimes the sides so I don't look like an urchin lol. Wish it grow faster but nah And yeah my last real haircut was in 2019 i think lol
Funny enough I went to my aunties salon yesterday to get a patch test again (due to the pandemic everyone has to have another one, even though she has been doing my hair since I was 9/10 years old)
I haven’t cut or dyed my hair in coming up to almost 3 years! I’ve been bleaching / dying my hair since I was 12 so I decided it was time to embrace my natural hair colour/ I was too lazy to go
I got my hair cut over the summer, but my last haircut before that was a long time ago. I don't like getting my hair cut and I'm always worried that the hairdresser will take off too much. My hair is currently tailbone length and I like to keep close to this length.
I am also long overdue for a haircut I think my last haircut was around this time of last year. I should have went for a haircut this summer while our case numbers were relatively low but I didn't and now we are at an all time high for active cases so I am definitely not going now! I have considered trying to give myself some sort of a trim but I am not brave enough just yet.
I didn't go to the hairdressers even before the pandemic because my mum's pretty good at cutting hair, so I usually just ask her to trim it when it gets too long, since I'm cheap and don't wanna pay for a haircut.
My last haircut was about 6 months ago, I got a lot cut off so my hair's mid-length right now. I've been meaning to get it trimmed again since I think it looks better shorter, but I'm not in a big rush.
I'm hesitantly thinking of getting layers/face framing bangs from a professional hair stylist once this pandemic is over and before I go to university though, just because my hair's a little plain and boring.
I got my haircut in September, but before that, I haven't gotten one since January. I'm glad I did because my hair was getting out of control and gross looking and now I feel better not having so much hair. I've been thinking about learning to cut my own hair though.
It's been at least a year and a half since I got a haircut. I have a long, straight, blunt cut so I usually only go to the hairdresser once a year to get the ends trimmed. I was planning on going at the end of March this year, but that's when COVID hit and everything started shutting down. There was a small window of time right before the shutdown where I could have gone but I didn't want to risk it.
The hair stylists did open back up in the summer and my husband's gone to get his hair cut twice since then because his was starting to look really bad, but I still don't feel like it's necessary for me. I keep my hair long anyway, so it's just longer than usual right now. Normally, I like my hair somewhere in the middle of my back, but right now it's just past my waist. It's not hurting anything, though, so I'll wait for things to clear up before I get it cut.
I mean, before all this, I've preferred trimming my own hair anyway, just 'cause it's so ridiculously expensive at the hair salon... Plus, I like dyeing my hair with henna every several months for a more natural and healthy alternative. So, trimming my own hair is really no big deal for me. I think if anyone is able and willing to do it, they should!
*raises her hand* My hair is getting long now, it's about halfway down my back now. I need a trim just to get the split ends off though. Thankfully, I have found the upside-down ponytail cut method to be handy and it really does leave your hair looking layered evenly as long as you do it correctly.
I just had my hair trimmed real short back in September and had it trimmed back in February. Before February, I hadn’t cut it in two years. The reason I cut it all off back in February was because it had soo many split ends because I messed with it too much. I think all the split ends are gone now, so I’m not gonna cut it ever again or for at least a few years. I might get it trimmed every six months to keep it healthy, but who knows...
I went about 6 months. My hair is all one length, no bangs, so that wasn't horrible (although there were more split ends than I cared to admit), but not getting my color was... ew. Of course, everyone was in the same boat, so no one talked about roots.
My hairdresser has reopened, but she only takes one client at a time. She does make an exception when doing my hair, because it takes 3 hours, so everyone wears a mask, she takes temperatures at the door, and we sit far apart. I go every 2 months, so not too bad. I'm still growing it out, and I've reached halfway between my shoulder blades and the small of my back.
I haven't cut or trimmed my hair in over 6 years now. It's juuuust about down to my upper thighs in front and covers my butt in the back. Luckily I found a good bun tutorial for obscenely long hair so I wear it up most days, but I love leaving it down and letting it brush against my back and legs. It's kinda like a security blanket for me at this point as weird as that sounds, but I am quite attached to it and have no plans to cut it anytime soon!
I haven't had mine cut in almost 10 years. I prefer to keep it as long as possible and prefer to avoid hairdressers, not just because they're overpriced around here but hairdressers usually like to talk a lot and it triggers my anxiety.
I learned how to cut it a few years ago from YouTube and have been doing that ever since I have short hair, so it needs to be cut often and it's nice not having to go somewhere/pay every time to do that
Kudos to those of you who cut your own hair! I'd do it too, but I'm beyond horrible at it even with the simple hairstyle I have.
I used to have a long haired guinea pig who constantly needed haircuts (his hair would drag on the ground and get covered in poo and pee). I did my best but the haircuts were pretty awful. I hope he didn't mind too much.
I've not had it cut in a few months now aside from one or two trims.
It's always been fairly short but a while ago I decided to wait and see how long it can actually grow. Turns out it barely grows past my shoulders anymore, even though it would end up down to my knees only a few years ago.
I havent had mine cut since august. I did undercut my hair recently though on one side with the shaver. When I get bored I tend to do things like that......
