I recently bleached my hair, about 3 times, since my hair was naturally dark brown. However, my hair gets so tangled and dry quicker than before but I love the color and my hair hasn't feel out of my head yet so it's basically small inconveniences.

never, it an overall incredibly damaging process & i want my hair natural and healthy but thats my own opinion

I got blonde streaks once in 2011 and it fried my hair. My hair was so brittle and dry. Never again.

I have jet black hair and I went to a level 8 blonde in about 8 hours

I had mine professionally done though by my hair dresser and my hair texture didn't change at all, if anything it brought more life to it

Also I feel like my hair is just stubbornly silky? if that makes any sense

I've never bleached my own hair by myself though, I don't mess with that stuff your hair could fry and fall off

Edit: Forgot to add, maybe try deep conditioning? I also religiously put moroccan oil on my hair everytime after I shower

I've been bleaching my hair for years, and have experience with both professional bleaching and doing it myself. Naturally my hair is about as dark as white girl hair can get, and it's pretty thick and long so going blonde was not without consequences for my hair

I can't recommend using expensive shampoo and conditioner enough. It might seem pricey, but you need to use a lot less than if you're using drugstore product (I used to need like half a bottle of Aussie conditioner every time I washed my hair lol)

I started using Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe about a year ago and the difference it made to the quality of my hair is insane. You can buy it in some salons but it's also available on amazon
It's got keratin in it so it bonds your hair, and it also helps to keep it from going brassy. They have a deep-conditioning masque too that I use maybe once a week

I watch Brad Mondo's react videos to home bleach jobs and honestly that makes me terrified of attempting things at home 😭

I've had blond highlights and balayage done professionally a couple times and I honestly didn't noticed it damage my hair at all in both occasions. Although in the second time round the hairdresser who did it was SUPER gentle and particular haha. I did dark hair for a while, then did light, but lowkey wanna go dark again.

So far I only ever made my hair darker, but I'd like to bleach it just once in the future. Hair regrows anyway, so it's fun to try new things out.

Looool, yes too much when I was 19/20 to make it bright pink. Eventually, it started falling out in clumps 😮
Since then I had it all cut off and let it grow my natural dark brown and it's long and healthy now

back in the ancient age 2014 or so i spent my time from 8am to 3pm at a hairdresser to get my hair bleached, because it's brown and thick as all hell, and i really wanted this blue/grey kinda color (plottwist i didn't end up with that) - i had silver hair when i walked out and scrambled egg color after a few weeks.

the thing is, i think i just went to the wrong hairdresser because she left halfway through and had someone else attend me (yay), but alas, don't. i still have parts on my scalp that haven't healed from the whole ordeal and overall your hair will look ... not good after some time. i haven't used color in a while and have WAY shorter hair than i did back then, but still. big no no on my part.

i bleached my hair once and getting the blonde colour on was nice but it ruined the condition so i wouldnt recommend it to everyone. my hair is naturally dark brown so even though the condition wouldve gotten better over time i wouldve had to bleach it again so i just went back to brown

I would never bleach my hair. I've heard too many horror stories from it. That said, I've never had my hair coloured. No streaks, no washout, nothing.

Not at all! I even try to limit how much bleach I use for cleaning due to it's super high potency and strong smell. I save that stuff for the really tough projects. My hair is not one of those tough projects. I just have my natural hair and do my best to keep it healthy and take care of it. I'm not against people dying their hair at all, there are some absolutely beautiful results, I'm just not willing to put my hair through all that trauma.

And i would highly highly recommend you try to wait until things quiet down with this virus and go to an actual professional. You could end up with bleach burns on your skin and scalp if you aren't careful. And if anything went wrong, the salons are closed currently, so you won't be able to get any mistakes corrected for quite awhile yet. Just be careful is all I'm saying >.<

Yep, a lot actually.
the first ever time I bleached it was around 4 years ago and this was bleaching my hair from black to blonde. I wanted a half coloured hair lol, we used a colour stripper first which sent it a nice ginger colour and bleached it once and it managed to lift the black. The only times I bleach that part of my hair is when my roots have come through or I want to go a different colour (which is approximately once a year). I loathe bleaching my hair, but I use a lot of deep conditioners to maintain it and my hairdresser says it’s in good condition. I would have it done professionally, I just can’t afford it.

I used to be a hairdresser so I’ll never bleach my own hair, not with box dyes at least. I know how much it affects the integrity of your hair and how much can go wrong. It’s hard to monitor parts of your hair you can’t see and I don’t wanna have to wait for it to grow out haha. The last time I got my hair bleached in a salon was about 3 years ago and it’s almost all grown out now, I’m saving up to get it done again by my friend - was debating doing an at home job over quarantine but I just know something will go wrong and I’ll be left with melted hair lol

i did when i came out haha. platinum blonde from a super dark brown & i would never do it again. it takes too long, it's too much to maintain properly, and i'd rather just keep my hair healthy.

i don't think i'd ever do it by myself.

I bleached my hair for a few years when I was in middle school/high school. I went to a professional. I don't dye my hair anymore because of the crippling social anxiety. But my hair survived.

I just wish I had taken the opportunity of dying it lavender when I had the chance.

my mom tried dying my hair pink once, it didn't work and the bleach turned my hair a weird discolored blonde for a while
it stayed that way up until my grade school graduation :b

I’ve bleached my entire head a couple of tomes before, and I have mega thick desi hair! It was when my hair was all the way down to my booty and I had already come to the terms of wanting to cut it all off to my shoulders, and so I was just like, “Well, I’ve always wanted peach and silver hair, now is probably the best time to do it!”

Yes, it dis damage the life out of my hair, especially when I went silver and would always bleach my roots to upkeep with my hair to try and make it look entirely silver. But, I have no regrets. Looking back at pictures of my peach hair and silver hair make me always feel super tempted to bleach my hair again because I just miss having colored hair, but my natural hair has grown out a lot since then and I’m trying to grow it out super long again so I can see how it feels to have naturally super long hair again.
