has anyone actually had luck island hopping?

He's the really smuggy kind of smug. But I like him. Also on a side note: give him a hat and he becomes just a blue horse.

Seems like he’s a combination of Kyle and Ed then. Another blue horse like Ed and the smuggiest smug like Kyle. Counting him, I’m going to have 3 smugs on the island, so hope my opinion of him doesn’t get interfered with Kyle and Ed being around. He sounds to be a pretty great guy from what you guys are telling me haha.

previously i could find a villager i liked with 10 or less tickets, but that all changed today as i spent nearly 7 hours island hopping for leonardo’s replacement and ended up broke. im exhausted right now but here’s everyone i got, with plenty of duplicates along the way

gosh that's quite a list, i just kept track using a tally chart on a piece of paper lol
and aw i love chief and wolfgang, the wolves are my 2nd fave after cats ♡
i have chief's amiibo and he is so groovy i especially love his house

maple is such a cutie too, i had her on my island before but gave her to my friend since she's her dreamie ^-^

i haven't island hopped much since i have amiibos of many of my dreamies, but i DID get extremely lucky the few times i have. i remember i got my all-time favorite villager, punchy, after only two islands. i also got lolly so i didn't even have to use her amiibo to bring her in. i also got zucker but voided him as he isn't a dreamie of mine ;; not a terrible haul! i've also had decently lucky with my campsite villagers, as i've seen judy (but i hate her design lol) and bob (who wasn't a dreamie but grew on me!). i can definitely see how it would get frustrating looking for a certain villager though, and i honestly think i'd give up at a certain point and just go to the villager trading network haha

Marina was my 3rd villager and I've always wanted to get the other two octopi to complete the trio. Found Octavian after 2 NMTs and Zucker after 1 NMT. I definitely feel lucky! That said, I'm not that picky when it comes to dreamies (heck I don't even know who my dreamies are) so it won't take me more than 10 tickets to find one that I like.

Of course, I invited Raymond anyway and I'm sure he'll be great. It was a money rock island too, and since I had precisely 0 bells to my name I definitely consider that part lucky!

i found drago and alfonso a few times and i had to leave them because i was so dedicated to finding rod or dobie ♡

i may not have got lucky with the villagers i found but i did get pretty lucky with the islands, i found bell island a lot and i also found fin and scorpion island which was really cool
tbh i didn't get any sharks from fin island just sucker fish and ocean sunfish lol

I'm kinda lucky that I got most characters very fast. I just go and see who is there... Till now I got Whitney, Sidney and Chrissy who were a few of my favorites in New Leaf. And I also invited Erik, Stella, Raymond and Wolfgang just because they looked nice. Erik is my alltime favorite now Most of them just took less than 20 tickets I guess. Only Stella was taking a bit longer.

Needed a big sister and I wanted Plucky or Phoebe and the last one was random at my campsite. So lucky again although it is not island hopping but it saved me some tickets.

Only trouble was Goose. Wanted him as my Jock and I got a lot of Jock characters while hopping, but not him after a lot of tries so I just traded him

I am about to try island hopping tomorrow once Henry fully moves out. I accidentally button mashed him, and I'm a bit sad about it, so hoping I find him again so I can get him back. Or maybe even find a new friend!

I've never gone more than 40 island hops to get a dreamie, my easiest was done in 5
