I have a cartridge copy and recently bought the digital version.
I have a preference for cartridges. I only bought the digital to play without need everything to be nice and pretty. My cartridge copy has my nicer town and villagers that I'd hate to lose. I actually haven't played in a while after I lost Diana so I've put that town on hold until I can find more free time. Which is where the digital version comes in since I don't have to worry about all that stuff. c:
In Canada at EBgames I purchased the digital copy of ACNL. It's not an Eshop money card.
When it first came out they had digital ACNL cards that you could buy. Now you just get a code to add at the Eshop.
Buying it thru EbGames I didn't have to pay the sales tax so I saved some money. Digital copy is the same price as the cartridge.
Ebgames is the same as Gamestop in the US.
I also have one digital and onecartridge per 3ds (for a total of 4 towns) and I've found it very challenging and rewarding keeping up with all 3 that are actual towns as well as cycling and trading in my fourth. Restarting can totally be worth it, I honestly played my very first town for a year then got frustrated with it and took a hiatus of about six months, when I came back I just didn't feel the same about my town and decided to restart and have actually gotten much further with my new main town since November than I did in a year of playing my original one simply because of the fresh start. Granted I need to actually focus on my other two towns because. I haven't gotten hardly anywhere with them (all dreamies and maybe 5 or 6 badges in one and still working on dreamies and maybe 2 or 3 badges in the other...) But the work in progress is part of the fun for me. I play a little in each town every day and rotate which town I spend longer in, so I'll do like 15-30 mins of dailies in each then pick one to go back and hang out in depending on what I'm working on at that time (landscaping, critter catching, island hopping, or just hanging out with my critters)
I have 3 copies. Two are cartridges and one is digital. I have 2 towns, and then I've got one cycling town which I may eventually turn into a third town when I get bored enough of cycling. But if you have enough time and patience getting a second copy is so worth it.
I have two physical copies of the game. But I'm currently playing four copies because I'm handling my boyfriend's towns too because he doesn't wanna play until Katt moves out, lol.
No. I might buy one, but considering I can never save up for stuff, I'll probably just end up quietly using my brother's copy once he's finished with it.
I really want a second copy of the game but I want to be able to have one player from the 1st cartridge go over to the second to visit. But I cant do that unless I buy a whole new 3ds. So that sucks!
I have 3 physical copies, two towns one cycle town. I play them on different systems (I have 2 3DS XL's and 1 N3DS) but for trading purposes I use 2 cartridges on one XL as there's no wifi switch on the N3DS.
Well, I was trying to avoid buying it twice because unlike most of you I don't want to have two towns. Problem is I have been searching up and down looking for my Animal Crossing cartridge (and i KNOW its in the house SOMEWHERE) I just cannot find it, after days of searching. Unfortunately its looking like I am just going to have to re-buy it digitally.
