I fancy buying it again because I hate using cartridges and now I have a bigger SD card in there i want to start moving to digital only. Animal crossing seems like the perfect game to go digital with. I guess I just need some advice and to see if others have done the same? I'd also quite like to start fresh again, I have twice already but I just get a kick out of restarting and going about things differently.

I have a cartridge and digital copy of the game, and I wish I had more x_x I like having more than one town, because I can try different things and themes between them, or use one for cycling (which helped me get a ton of my dreamies). But I've noticed I don't have the patience or time to really develop a second town while working on my main. A lot of people have like, four developed towns, though - it's impressive!

I am considering the same thing myself. To me it looks like if you have the time it could really be worth it! I want to start a cycling town because it seems fun to help people find villagers they want.

No, but I had/have two copies. I bought the first copy back in 2013, but sadly I had to sell my 3DS with the digital copy. Then I didn't play the game at all during 2014 and now in 2015, I picked the game again as my Club Nintendo final reward.

Yes I have more copies. I have one digital and one cartridge on each 3DSXL.
I added the first digital copy in July 2013 and have never had a problem.

An online friend has 5 towns. She keeps a calendar and plays only one town at a time. When she done she stops a mover and than moves to the next town and plays that for a while.
Some have season towns. So when that season rolls around they can start playing again. As long as you stopped a mover before you quit no one goes. You just have to find the mover when you play again.

I have two physical copies of the game, because I had an idea for an astronomy themed town, so I got a second town.

Yes, I have two physical copies just because I prefer actual cartridges. I bought another because I saw all the cycling threads and I thought it would be fun to have my own, which it is.but I also find that I spend less time on my main which can be a problem since I'm still developing it and stuff. My thought is that eventually once my main town is more developed, I'll turn my cycling town into a second town and go for a different theme/pwps/whatever.

I do. I have a physical copy and a digital copy i bought last Christmas when i got my new 3ds. It's easier to have it right there since i play it so much, and i have an open spot for another cartridge instead. I use my physical copy to cycle now and try to get my dreamie villagers, and TT until i find a good turnip price. haha Plus, if i want a villager and i have no room in my main town i just put them in my cycle town until they want to move out and i do have room for them.

I bought it three times. Once when it came out.

Second time was a year later or so and I sold my original because I thought I was over Animal Crossing. I wasn't.

Third time was when I bought my sister one. And now she won't play it. But I don't play it either right now so.

I have a digital copy and a cartridge! But I'm thinking of getting a third, mainly for a differently themed town! As well as my main/cycling and hybrid breeding town

I have 3 physical copies, at first it was really cool because I wanted a cycling town for me and friends. Then it was filled with villagers I fell in love with... so then I bought another one LOL. So I'm working on selling at least one this month. It all depends on the person.

I have two cartridge/ physical copies and it works well... My two towns are distinct and keeping the two separate is simple too... I feel like a digital copy would be easier to discern the two, but i've never dabbled with wifi copies! good luck if you get a 2nd copy, I recommend it!

I only have one, but I'm contemplating buying a second copy... How much would I have to pay for a digital one?

I used to. I sold my second copy of the game back in October 2013.

If anyone ever happened to buy a used PAL edition of ACNL on eBay with a pink circle sticker on the back of the cartridge then hi, I was it's original owner.
