Sometimes, I would like to skip a day or not log in, but I feel like I have to, otherwise someone might move out... or there are chores to do. Does this happen to anyone else? I still enjoy this game a lot but there are days when it feels more like a chore I have to get off my check list then a game. :(

ehhh its not a chore, i like playing it everyday. (i should start making a to-do list for the game, haha.) sometimes it feels like it but then i remember that HEY. I HAVE PIXELS TO PLEASE.

It does feel a little chore-like at times, which is why I set daily goals for myself. Like "today will be a gardening day", or "today imma finally get that scorpion". I'm a goal-oriented person, so I enjoy that kind of thing.

Not to that point yet, thankfully! I even make sure to bring my 3DS to work so I can play on my lunch break ... Not ashamed (okay, maybe sometimes a liiitttle embarrassed) to be 25, sitting at my desk, eating a sandwich and working on my town. :)

I feel a little obligated to play every day because you can so easily miss things if you go even a few days without playing, but it's fun so it doesn't feel like a chore to me. If I really don't want to play, then I don't and I don't feel too bad about it

Yes, it does feel like a chore now. I have the same reasons, somedays i dont want to play or am too busy to play but I feel forced to in case someone moves, etc. I keep track of my last play date and on days that I'm free, I load up my game from that date. If someone pings me to move, I TT to the present date. (this way i dont need to play like 2 weeks worth of time)

I guess sometimes it may feel a little chore-like to make sure to water plants (I have Beautiful on but I still like increasing any chance of breeding) and buying fertilizer and bush starts to hoard or digging up any cracks and talking to the few villagers I want to make sure to stay. But it's not to the extent that it really sucks the fun away, I guess? If it ever does get to that point, I'll probably just find the guide to hiatusing and stop for a while.

You have to take control.

Write down the game date.

Say, you want to take five days off and today [Eastern Time here in the U.S.] is your last day before break.

Write it down on a scrap sheet of paper: Friday, September 19, 2014.

When you pick it up in a few days and you're signing on: Tell Isabelle the date is Friday, September 19, 2014.

This is why time-travel is necessary. Those dismissing that are doing it out of concern for people manipulating the game. But the "simulated" concept of how to play "Animal Crossing" is not worth any player feeling enslaved.

Some days. The days I don't feel like actually playing I only really log on to TT and stick to the same date.

sometimes, yeah. I notice I go through acnl phases for weeks at a time. like, I'll be really into it for two weeks and I'll be excited to play. but I'll hit a week of laziness where I really can't be bothered to turn it on, but I feel like I should after a day away just in fear of my villagers moving away. ehh.

Nope - not yet. I do not play in real time, and I TT back & forth quite a bit, and the game still feels somewhat fresh to me.

I've found that not logging in game for 2-3 (real) days makes it more enjoyable:
at least for my main town, which I deliberately not go in for the past 2 days.
Of course I always start with the last play date, even briefly, to make sure I could 'neutralize' move-out pings and rumors.
Playing it regularly everyday and in realtime, without TT, that would be quite a turnoff for me.

As for the other 2 cycle towns, one I speed cycle daily, and the other I just restarted,
so the only chore to me would be having to do the train convo with Rover AND inputting my name & the town name over and over again, while searching for a decent town map...:(

WOW NEAT i need to do something like this, haha. i have a to-do/memo app and i sure could use it for acnl.

Ugh. Yesss. x.x With my old town, I don't like my town anymore, but I feel obligated to log in just to make sure my villagers don't move.

I recently created a new town which I'm enjoying playing, but I'm really hoping it doesn't feel like a chore at some point in the future too.

I had an old town that I lost the cartridge and I had stopped playing before I lost it because it felt like a chore. But I got a new game and I'm 11 days into the new town and I'm already finding it to be a chore... I can play new Animal Crossing games for months before I get tired, but once I learn almost everything about that game, no matter how many times I reset, it's going to feel like a chore to me. :/

No.I take breaks all the time.I just stop playing on a day i stopped a villager from moving.Today Molly asked to move, so i will take a break this weekend. When i start again, no one will have moved out.

The actual gameplay? No. Beetle farming, however, has become a chore for me, and I really do not enjoy that part of the game anymore.

Yes, for me it does feel that way. And actually, (I think someone said this), I make goals for my self. Since I've gotten into making patterns, the game has really livened up. I'm actually really excited for October to roll around, because I've got a lot of dresses/patterns to show.

Other then that, my goals consist of talking to everyone and sending a present each day. I send presents so that I have a higher chance of getting pictures.

No, it's just something I do for fun. I don't do things the most "efficient" way often, but I have more fun when I play the game how I want to, you know? A lot of people find the island really easy to make bells from, sure, but I'd rather mess around the town than make myself feel like I'm doing work to get rich. I'd rather have fun, and just make it at my own pace. I don't try to overbear myself with these tasks and achievements, such as getting pictures and special items or whatever. I just play it how I want to basically. I don't think anyone should get to caught up in pointless achievements, just enjoy the game for it's laid back style.

More on topic, I don't have a time issue with the game really, I normally have time to play it, if I don't feel like it, I just don't though.

Sometimes I do.
More often in my work days as I don't get back until 8:00 when all the shops are closed. I also hate how I get punished for not logging on with an unhappy move or my bed hair.
