I assume there is a boat load of people resetting their towns and/or coming back to ACNL because of the new update. I'm one of those. 
I've been playing for a couple of years but I reset my town yesterday to enjoy the game from the beginning with the new update. I didn't have much to lose anyway, my town had been uncomplete and abandoned.
Bonus points for Skye being one of my beginner villagers! <3
