Guess I'm making Cat Island

So, awhile ago I made a poll thread, Cat Island or Bird Island, and I got a lot of helpful feedback but was still undecided. About 2/3 voted bird island and I was leaning slightly toward it, but still was attached to the idea of cat island. Well my switch lite finally came and I decided that if I rolled Katt as my starter uchi first, I'd do cat island, and if I rolled Plucky first, bird island.

And........

I booted up my switch. Redownloaded AC. Loaded my first try...

And I got Katt. ON THE FIRST LOAD IN

On top of that, the native fruit was oranges, which is the one I was most hoping for on my new island.

So... I feel like that's a clear sign. XD The only downside is that, since it was only a 2/23 chance, I naturally assumed that I wouldn't get Katt or Plucky on my first try - and I just gave my character a placeholder name cuz I was undecided on it. My character's name is ~. "~". That's it. But who knows how many resets it would take to get Katt (or Plucky) again, plus my luck in getting oranges, and I quite like the map... so I guess I'll make the best of it!

PS. if my little brother ends up not wanting his save on the family switch, I may still get a chance to make bird island, so... stay tuned ;p

Also, I made Aoshima southern hem for variety, so that should be fun

Oof, are you sure you want to invest hundreds of hours into a game with that username? It is not going to bother you? Don't want to play Devil's advocate here, but resetting for a specific Uchi is actually normally quite fast and easy since the pool is so small.

Regardless of what you decide to do, I look forward to seeing what you are able to accomplish and how you build up your island!

I had Katt as my starter too. Just remember her house doesn't have the proper furniture because she's one of your first 2 villagers unfortunately.

I wouldn't fixate so much on the starters.
The first 5 villagers have DIY interiors, which means that Katt won't actually have her original furniture.
Also, knowing myself, a name like that would bother me in the long run as I wouldn't be able to connect to it plus having the villagers/NPC's call me that would be weird.
I think a cat Island is a great idea though. I mostly had cats in my second NL town.

Weeellll, this is my second island, so the name doesn't bother me as much due to considering the first island my "main" island... I've never actually done 2 towns at once before, so I'm not sure what the time split between the two will actually end up looking like. I'm aware of the starting house issue but I was thinking I'd probably bounce the starter(s) off my 1st island or a friend's island. Mostly I was just using the starter uchi as a decision maker for my indecisive self haha.

Another thing to consider is that your first 5 villagers won't have their original houses! I personally really don't like the Uchi starting house, so I would definitely consider restarting so you can get all the villagers you'd like in their unadulterated form : )

Thanks!! I don't have a concrete plan yet but lots of ideas Deer town is a great idea too! There are so many great deer. Love your town name aswell

that was me in NH (was supposed to have all deer). It started with just the one wolf, then a cat, then a rabbit... and at that point I just gave in and made 50% of my island non-deer I respect the one-species islands cause I just can't do it

Welp, I gave in and reset hahaha. Took about 45min to get one I accepted. I respect y'all who reset for hours and hours to get the perfect island but I am not that strong lmao. I spawned only apple islands (like 7 or 8 of them) and 1 peaches (i dont like the peaches) but I found a map again that ticks most of my boxes. Apples, but that's okay because they were my second choice for fruit, plus my native flower is roses.

...And, guess what, it rolled me Rudy as my jock

Anyway my res rep is named Kona this time! After the brand of coffee, because I plan to have part of the island styled as a cat cafe ^_^

The Isle of Nyan(Meow in Japanese) is in full support of your cat island, naturally! I was going to do all cats too but then I got other villagers I really liked soooo, oh well! But yes, wishing you many felines and support with your future online feline overlords... er...villagers! :3
