Growing hybrids?

I am trying to grow some pink roses and tulips. I've read that you need to plant the red and white flowers diagonally and water them to get the hybrids. Are those true facts?

Yes thats correct. Make sure to place them in open areas so the hybrid has room to grow. I would recommend the beach for this. Also planting fertilizer next to the pair makes a hybrid chance higher

The flowers need to be next to each other, thats for sure. I have had the most luck when they are diagonal like you said above. And watering them does help. I always water mine and it definitely helps

You don't always have to plant them diagonally. I plant all of mine in horizontal rows, and I grow plenty of hybrids. I plant my hybrids either in a border around the very edges of town, where they can't be destroyed by move-ins, or around houses and pwps, where they also can't be destroyed. Either way, they're always side by side. I only use the beach to store my extra hybrids, but it's perfectly fine to grow them there, too.

Planting them in a border around town got me the best results. In a short period of time (about a month with no tting), I grew enough blue pansies to make a border around the entire bottom half of my town. I watered every flower in my town every day while I was doing this, and I still would get 2 or 3 new blue pansies each day, sometimes more.
