Growing attached to 'unpopular' villagers

I'm probably not the only one with this kind of problem-ish situation. When I got my first Animal Crossing game it was Wild World and I was like.. 11? I grew attached to Moe because you know, I liked him, he gave me his picture.
Now I am dying to get him into my town in New Leaf!
Does anyone else have stories like this?

I don't know how popular Barold is, but I'm assuming he's not. I really hated him for the longest time and he told me he was moving twice, I encouraged him both times, and he changed his mind and said he wanted to stay and get to know me so that we could become friends. :| But oddly enough, I actually did end up missing the little weirdo after I reset.

he's not the most unpopular villager, but I randomly picked up Lopez one day because someone was not having luck selling him and he became one of my favorite villagers ever! he is in my second town now and he's my favorite guy villager in there

Same with me and Pekoe! I needed another villager to prevent random move in's and I picked her up and love her now :3

I had Lopez move into my second town, and at first I didn't really care much for him, but he grew on me. I wouldn't say he's a favorite, but I liked him.

I have wendy in my town and I decided I wanted her after seeing an adorable pic of her on tumblr. Once I got her I fell in love with her and now she's one of my favourite villagers <3

When I first started playing Animal Crossing, Freckles was one of my starting villagers. After a while, she became my favourite. I talked to her every day and as much as I could.

When she moved away from my first town due to time-travelling too far into the future, I was devastated. I missed her so much... every time I get the opportunity to have her again, I take it. I had her in my second town because someone was giving her away.

A lot of people don't like Freckles because they think that her design is weird. Honestly, I find it adorable...

People either hate or love Canberra. She's a tier 5!
I happen to be a huge fan of her design. Her face is so funny in a cute way.

Freckles was in my Wild World and she had her house right next to mine! She was so adorable and I wish I could have her but I already have 10 villagers!

I have no idea about "villager tiers" or what makes one unpopular but I love Dora the mouse. Had her in my town since I starteed the game 3 months ago.

I don't know where he stands with popularity but I love him to bits. I had him in my first New leaf town. I found him the other day in a Hide and Seek Island tour.

There's plenty of villagers that move in and when I see them I'm just not that into them. Now, I walk around and I talk to literaly everyone because I just love them all. Haha. I don't want any of them to leave, but I want more to move in at the same time. I just love all the animals. The only person I really dislike is limberg because he's a bit of a butthole.

Rasher and Quillson are two villagers that many would consider ugly or stupid, but I grew attached to them when I constantly ended up talking to them and eventually I ended up fearing that they would leave town while I was away. Rasher is long gone now, but Quillson still lives on, thankfully.

He's such a weird and nerdy duck, but I find him amusing so I don't think I could ever let him go.

I love Barold now too ahah he is in my town and he is sucha sweetheart

Could you please clarify in what dimension getting attached to unpopular villagers is a problem?

I ended up getting really attached to Graham after he turned up in my first New Leaf village- Iunno, he reminds me of a lot of my irl nerdy friends, I was sad he was gone when I restarted.

But now in my new town, he's back and now Mayor Willow, Graham and Anchovy are geeky buddies together. I'm going to try my hardest to make sure he doesn't leave. XD

The first villager I got attached to was Vesta! I had Vesta in my ACWW and she was my favourite villager because she's this cute, little sheep who's super sweet (compared to a Tipper I had, is it just me or snooty/cranky villagers are more rude in ACWW than ACNL).
She was also the first villager to gave me her picture and while my time in my WW town was brief, she was the only villager I really liked in that game~

I have Vesta in my current town but she originally came from my best friend's town... My friend is really sad bout it so I promised to give her back LOL
