When I was on these forums as New Leaf was coming out everyone was so upset about grass wear and talking about it all the time, about how much they hate it... What's happened now? Have people grown to like it, or have you just got used to it? It never bothered me to be honest, but I was wondering where all the hate has gone..

It never bothered me much. I always could fix it with paths, PWP projects or flowers..
I think people are more concerned with getting villagers now and making sure they don't mess up their town plans.
Grass wear is easier to take care of than an unplanned villager to me. :3

I still hate it actually. XD
I think the dirt in this game looks disgusting and I'm really upset at how easily the grass is damaged.

People probably just know how to fix it now? And people do use paths a lot more now, so maybe the towns are too full of stuff on the ground to even see any grass wear.

Grass wear never bothered me anyway. No link to Frozen intended. Some people make natural paths out of grass wear, which I think it nice and different for a change. It takes a lot of upkeep however. It kind of bugs me sometimes anyway, especially in my old town.

honestly grass wear never worked for me? I WANTED natural paths but I couldnt get them to wear down so I finally just used patterns. I guess the fact I couldnt get it to happen made it not a problem lmao

Yeah I never thought it was that bad but people made such a fuss at first, there was like 2/3 threads on it a day! But I suppose yeah then the dreamie obsession took over and people make more paths now.

I'd heard about how bad it was in City Folk, was wary of it in New Leaf, and now I would miss it if it went away.

It's not too bad. The dirt looks fine to me.. But I have an open area in my town that I plan to stick a PWP in, and little small round dirt circles always appear there D:

I agree! I was also wary at first because I hated it in city folk, but then I made natural dirt paths that looked really nice ^.^

I don't have many patches of dirt in my town, so I don't mind it that much. I only run on my paths, and I can hear there's dirt underneath those, but I can't see that so I don't care.

Yeah I only run on my paths too, and the dirt isn't too bad - it's pretty good no one's freaking out over it anymore!

I still hate it, but I love using patterns, so it's fine. I'd like the grass wear if it made just a little more sense to me, I keep seeing dirt patches that I don't even walk on expanding really fast, which I don't quite understand.

I still personally despise it and haven't gotten used to it. Clearly the devs seem to think it's still a good idea since they've kept it since City Folk (even if it's toned down). I wouldn't mind it so much if we had a definite way of growing it back that doesn't depend on hoping for rainy days.

My dislike for grass wear was renewed in the spring time. I keep hearing that grass/snow grows back slowest in the winter, and I'm not sure if that's the case, but it definitely doesn't wear away as fast for whatever reason, so that's a huge plus. Even dirt patches that have been here since last summer literally disappeared and turned into snow within a few days of snow, and didn't go away all winter no matter how much I walked on them. However, within a few days of spring, I had this massive dirt blob even though I made no changes in my walking areas since the winter.

Grass wear sucks. I love being reluctant to walk along the shore to fish because it'll turn into hideous dirt if I do it too much! They should eliminate it or give us bags of seed to regrow it.

Winter is awesome because the snowfall will supercharge growth.

I'm not a big fan. I walk a lot along my river because I love to fish, and so most of my river shore is covered in dirt. It adds realism, I guess, but I really hate it and wish it hadn't been implemented.
