my grass is dead in so many spots that i dont want it dead and its driving me crazy. i'd tt tt fix it all at once but i have like 4 villagers id be terrified of ever losing so i dont want to. ): i have been trying to not walk on those areas but habits are hard to break
does anyone know anything else i can do urghhh

It's possible to time travel one month without any villagers moving and most of the grass will be restored by that time.

Just set up some paths around the areas that you don't want to walk on and COMMIT TO THE PATHS.

^ That right there is why soooo much of my grass has grown back over the last month.

That takes forever.

Only takes about 3 days for me. It's completely green again in a week.
I do it everytime I do the villager moving trick. I have the beautiful ordnance too which probably helps.
Either way, still better than TT'ing a month which doesn't guarantee dirt patches to disappear... Lol

My grass was getting so patchy and ugly that I had to resort to paths. I used flowers to mark the paths instead of making pattern paths (since I like to keep my town looking natural) and was pleasantly surprised. Not only is the off-path grass vivid and green again, the colorful flower paths make my town look much better it ever had before.
Before I resorted to paths, I was using flowers on thinning grass patches. However, this actually backfired. I was doing so much walking around to water all the flower patches that I was killing more grass than I was healing.

I switched town to beautiful while on holiday and mostly stuck to my paths and 3 weeks on it's almost all grown back without watering them. It's a slow process but I'm glad that I haven't TT'd for it now.

I found this in my attempts to re-grow grass back in August, I miss the Night owl hours, but I save so much time and grass now by just leaving the flowers be that I'm keeping my town on beautiful permanently now.
I also lined paths with flowers, but villagers don't seem to respect boundaries and now most of them have overgrown. xP I'm halfway through placing bushes along my paths now.

make a path!!
you can make real nice natural paths or you can use another character to hold your paths uvu
but yeah, you can either make a path or tt a lot.

Just a random thought, but why not expand the deterioration so that it becomes a full-blown footpath that way you know where you want your tiles to go down later on?

i'd love to know how to do this considering i'm lazy
and i already have paths. i just dont have them All put down yet and i dont always stick to just my paths because there are other places i need to go and such. i've stopped running and i tried to walk everywhere instead but ah i have no patience omg.
so what is this about this tt without villagers moving thing??

It depends on when in your villager cycle you TT. If a villager you want to leave says they are moving then you can TT ahead as far as you want and only that villager will leave. Or if you only have 8 villagers then no one will try to move out until a 9th is moving in. I've also found in general a villager will try to move every other day that is played, so usually if someone tried to leave on the day you TT from and you told them to stay you can TT once to any date without having anyone leave. ~ Though I am not certain this works 100% of the time, but it's worked for me twice before on my spare town.

Though your safest bet is to just TT a day at a time and check your villagers are staying while sticking to paths. Will take a few hours though.

My entire town is just made of dirt practically since I always run in circles. I've given up trying to grow grass.
