Got error 001-0502 for the first time

So I was trying to do a trade today and had to add someone; however, my friends list wouldn't load. The Error 001-0502 "Unable to connect" to the server kept popping up when I tried re-loading my Friends List. Has anyone had this before? I googled for answers but there didn't seem to be any solution. The problem also fixed itself within 15 mins or so but I was just wondering what could have caused this. I didn't change my internet settings at all and the E-shop along with the browser worked just fine. :/

This is common, and it's perfectky fine just reset your 3DS

I did that but it didn't fix it. It kind of got fixed "on its own" after about 15 mins after I reset.
I'm glad to know that it's common because I was quite worried.
