Got a nookmile furniture item in my Recycling Box ???

I went to look at my Recycling Box yesterday and saw I had a Blue drink machine.
My drink machine is red for my island

I saw somewhere explaining how empty the box has to be to get certain things inside but I didn't know you could get nookmile items?

Does anyone know how I can do it again?

Did you recently have an animal move out? They'll leave something from their house when they go.

I was really excited when a villager left a white upright piano in the box after moving. The one in my shop is black. Sounds like you lucked out I've never seen a nook miles item left behind.

I did have a animal move out but the item was in the top row and I had it both rows full and it wasn't the latest item at the end of the list.
Also I am pretty sure the islander didn't have a blue drink machine in their house.

Yeah I was so confused when I saw it said drink machine cause I have been moving around my island and just thought it was my red one that I had left somewhere but no when I went to display it was blue

Hopkins and buzz have blue drinks machines in their houses. Have either of them ever lived on your island?

In my experience villagers always leave a furniture item and a clothing item when they move out. Not sure if the clothing item is left if you never give them clothing though.

Thank you have just solved the mystery I just had Hopkins move out I did not know that villagers could leave nookmile furniture items

In my experience they do. Julian left a crescent moon chair, which was pretty awesome since it was way before I got the DIY from celeste.

If you had a villager recently move out, then they will always leave behind something that someone has gifted them in the past - if it's a villager you "adopted" then it's likely that the previous owner of the villager gave them that drink machine and that they just left it behind.

(also, if a villager doesn't have anything to leave behind then a cardboard box will appear in the recycling bin instead of their furniture).

I'm not positive, but I think it doesn't need to be? I seem to recall not checking the box for a long time then having two villagers move out within a few days and finding furniture from both of their houses. Someone else can hopefully give you a more concrete answer.

Btw, I love your avatar. I'm distracted by it for an embarrassingly long period of time every time I see it.

Tutu moved out a little while ago and she didn’t leave anything in the recycling box. I had given her lots of clothes too. She was kicked out by a campsite visitor if that makes a difference

wow!! the best thing i've gotten from my recycling box is a maid dress, and that was because i gave it to my villager who had moved out. (muffy, ily <3) it would be really cool to get good furniture like that from a villager moving out, looks like it's time to get marshal because i want literally everything in his house sjskdk

I think the only time I know I did not get anything from a villager who left was with Kiki, who was adopted by a friend. I don’t recall whether I got something from vesta who I later found out moved from the void to my friend’s island.

my theory is that if they are going to someone else they can’t give away their furniture (though the clothes, which they only seem to leave if unoriginal, they still leave) I think if Nate hadn’t been adopted you would have received clothing and furniture, which is what I always receive when my villagers move.

I do want to hear what Raymond leaves! If he is adopted away my guess is he will leave either nothing or a clothing item you gave him (if he has been gifted clothes).

I also wonder if you receive anything if the villager goes to an island via the void. I feel like that isn’t necessarily predetermined (like they may show up on the other island not necessarily right after leaving because there seems to be a move in queue so the game doesn’t know if they will actually end up on another island at all)

it would make sense for the game to not be able to account for that, but I wonder if it does or if those villagers leave furniture behind. Wish I remembered whether vesta left furniture.

That's super lucky! I'm hoping to get Vladimir's pink machine when he leaves! I rarely get anything good, though. Usually just clothes I've given out or cardboard boxes!
