Good team for Pokemon Platinum?

Recently I had the urge of redoing Pokemon Platinum without cheats so I did. I'm right at the part of you pick up the Psyduck thing from Cynthia.

I hate this Pokemon so much. What I mean is this thing has the worst attacks when it is a low level. All I need is just surf or something and it will be good.

SKARMORY Level 28 Male

Vaporeon is a defensive beast, being a water type with solid special defense and high HP (400+ at lvl 100). Keep training it, since it pays dividends later. Same for Mory. Excellent defensive pokemon. Not so keen on Grotle and Luxray, but they're okay. Maybe look into something like Heracross or Machamp? Fighting types are suprisingly useful.
