I always try to give my Pokemon a moveset that takes full advantage of the Pokemon's ability, for example my Kyogre, his Drizzle makes it rain which raises the power of Water type moves, not only that but I gave him a splash plate to increase it even more, and 3/4 of his moves are powerful water type moves (Surf, Water Spout, and Hydro Pump).
but what if theres a water pokemon. i never use only one type of move. its ineffective.
That's why I have sheer cold, it may have a really low hit chance, but even if I don't use it, Water Spout is pretty strong, even against other water types.
but thunder would be even more effective. and water spout relies on speed cuz if ur first, more damage, but water pokemon are usually fast. kyogre has really low speed.

any of the same type move is pretty bad, unless they do something special.
*punches*

its called STAB

if the attack is the same type has the pokemon it does more damage

otherwise types don't matter at all

And that's why I have my Sceptile who has a speed of over 300.

Heh... that moveset isn't good.
Remove the plate and put in Leftovers. Also, I believe Kyogre can learn Hidden Power (Ground). I would put that on your moveset and get rid of Water Sprout and Hydro Pump.
Water attacks will do more damage against Electric types than HP Ground, unless it's Lanturn.

porygon z, if you use nasty plot and after that hyper beam you'll get most pkmn ko'ed but when a new pokemon switches in you're lost because you have to recharge, so if I were you i'd change hyper

hmm that sounds better, i don't like the whole concept of uber-battles

but who don't you make a theme-team :P
it's more fun for everyone and it'll help you to think of some strategies
