So I restarted Eden so the town is now Bluebell. Found a good map and gained 2 of my dream villagers. Is this a good map to start with? IMAG0075.jpg

I think its a good map. Re-Tail is a good distance from the Train Station and there is plenty of room to work with.

How many rocks are there? Are they in good locations (meaning not in the way)?

There's one on the lower left corner of the square, one on the right side of Re-Tail, another on the right of Bettina's house (not a dreamie), another at the bottom of the train station, one is on the lower right of the town house, and another by Merry's house, close to the river. So the rocks are in okay spots.

I might place my house on the upper left corner, next to the beach.

Seems like you landed yourself a really great layout. :)

This map is pretty identical to mine, except the re-tail/town hall/plaza are in different locations. :P
I personally love my map, so I'd say keep it.

Its a reasonably good map, I have multiple towns and in reality you can work with most maps.-
positives for me - vertical ramps, good positions for main buildings. Not too many ponds (most of mine have 3) and rocks in OK places.

negatives - no big private beach - but then not all my towns have one, and I don't find I make hybrids easily anyway on the beach.
So for me its not a reason for keeping or not keeping a town.

R-Tail is a long way from the dock - but if you can make a good fairly direct 2 tile wide path to R-Tail then its workable (I have 2 towns with R-Tail up by the railway tracks & they work fine - and good when you are selling turnips in them).

So it comes down to villagers - and you say you already have two you like.
And if you like or are OK with the colour of railway station/town hall, grass design & the native fruit then yes its a good town and a keeper.

The thing that I personally don't like is the narrow strip of land on the top left. And the pond right in front of Main Street/Train Station looks like a bit of a bother to me.
If you're going to make your dreamies move into a specific place, then that may be a bit problematic seeing that you already have two of them. Looks like all of the five houses are in awkward-ish places.

I would say its bad, since the pond next to the train station would restrict any border you'd may want to build in the future

I think the map itself and most of the placements are great, except, I think the pond in front of the train station could be really annoying and I'm not the biggest fan of the river shape. But overall, it's good and you could make it work! :)

Thanks for the tips/advice guys! So far my dreamies have moved in good spots.

I really like your map. The placements are really nice, too. This map has a lot of potential although some small things could get in the way. Good luck with your town.
