I kinda feel like pulling out the N64 right now.... :D

I got ridiculously excited seeing the old levels, but then sad when I saw Daniel Craig's pale visage instead of Pierce Brosnan's delicious Irish features.

I thought the guns looked familiar.

Cough cough Activision

Wow, this remake has everything! They even managed to keep the same graphics from N64 era!

All trolling aside, though. Game looks pretty kickass. And it'll be nice to play this with some bros.

The James Bond franchise has been tossed around between many different publishers. I believe EA had it last, actually. Activision has had it since 2007.

This. =(

Huh. If copyright issues really did prevent the release of the 360 remake, why is this seeing the light of day?

*Remembers a quote from Sab's Sig*

This game seems to be an unavoidable disappointment, frankly. It's undoubtedly true that Goldeneye once set the standard for shooters on consoles, but it did so in 1996. Games such as Halo, Metroid Prime, Gears of War, and Call of Duty have long since improved upon and ultimately eclipsed Goldeneye's achievements. True this game will have some degree of nostalgia, but that's not enough to build a game on.

I've watched a few videos of the game's multiplayer, and it looks like a less-intense version of Call of Duty, only without any of the great features that Call of Duty 4's multiplayer brought two and a half years ago. On top of this, the developer in charge of the game has made almost exclusively movie games, which as we all know is the trash-end of video game production (although Goldeneye is technically a movie, but meh.) They did develop two Bond titles in the early 00s, but in the age of Halo, those games felt outdated even back then.

Also, I don't know why anyone would torture themselves by playing a FPS on the Wii. Honestly. I feel bad for anyone that got the CoD4 port that was released for the Wii, because I recall it being impossible to control.

So guys, anybody play Goldeneye: Source?
*ahem*

Goldeneye: Source is more or less the multiplayer experience from goldeneye, if you liked that, combined with PC gaemin/online. only a handful of people play it, and it isn't exactly the same, but if you don't think the wii version will tide you over, it's worth a shot if you have half-life 2/your computer can handle it.

I don't know about multiplayer or other "real" fps', but after I played around a bit, the metroid prime 1 controls seemed to work really well on the wii. (wii zapper = awesome, btw)

and link's crossbow training was really fun when you could move around the level, even though it was a little hard to control.

no experience with other fps' on the wii, but I have a funny feeling that this goldeneye will be under a lot of criticism whether it's good or bad.

I lol'd so hard at the trailer though, trying to build up the game through those fans. "OH MAH GAWD GOLDENEYE SIXTY FOOOUR"

Dragunov, RPG and what looks like a Stg-44 sweet
It seems like everyone who has played a couple of Call of Duty games suddenly fancies themselves an expert on firearms. What you saw was most definitely the good old AK-47, not the StG-44.

also, the PP7 was the best gun in the original.. right?

I mean, technically speaking.. it was silenced, so you could aim, headshot, and not be noticed, and still be able to use it as a more rapid-fire gun if need be, yeah? and isn't there something about a short invincibility time after you get shot, anyway, making more rapid fire weapons.. kinda a waste?

who else remembers using all those cheat codes you'd find to get all the levels, guns, cheat modes (DK, paintball, tiny bond, etc.)?

forget the main game mode... this was probably the only game that I played with just for the cheat codes, or remember using them in, for that matter. (diddy kong racing didn't count, since they reset and I never remembered them :p)

Really, you are going to hate on Wii FPS... honestly I disagree with you big time... I have played both COD4 for the PS3 and Wii and I must say the controls for the Wii is just fine and is very controllable.

You really don't have a say in the matter if it has horrible control or not till you actually play it on the Wii...

As for the Goldeneye... it is a classic so there will be plenty of people who thoroughly enjoy it. I know I will probably really enjoy it like I did way back when. And I am sure there will be plenty of people who will enjoy it. Don't bash on it till it comes out, good grief...
