Golden Slingshot - Mission Accomplished!

Okay, so...today I got the Golden Slingshot! Yay! I'm shocked, since I don't have the silver one, but okay...I'm guessing that pretty much proves it's random. But either way, I'm really happy! I'm really surprised with how well my town is coming along. I haven't even had it for a month, and it's already as updated as my former town was. And I never even came close to seeing a Golden Slingshot in my old town either!
Anyone else have amazing luck lately? Fact is, I visited Katrina today, but I didn't have on a pink-bud tank (the item that would bring me good fortune). So I'm just guessing today was my lucky day.
Any interesting stories of lucky things that have ever happened to you?

It's only random when you shoot down at least 16 balloon gifts.

I don't know how to get a silver slingshot, but I got a gold one a week or so ago, probably shot down 20+ presents?

I got the silver a few weeks ago and the golden one last week sometime.

The silver slingshot will be in a balloon after shooting down a bunch. It will be wrapped specially. After that they show up all the time or you get the usual balloon gifts. I sell all my silver slingshots. Have the gold.

Speaking of, today I got two silver slingshots! I'm keeping them both and thinking about selling one or trading it, but I'm not sure about trading because they're really easy to get. It isn't like something you have to work really hard for...so probably no to trading.

Once I got my golden one I just started storing the silver ones. I have like ten, every once in a while I'll give them out on tumblr or something - not many people want them because they already have a bunch in their closet as well, aha.

And yes I had pretty good luck today. Julian is moving in and I forgot to start a new character to pick where his house goes. I'd never move him out, so I was like oh damn I hope he's not in a bad spot. D; But then he was in an okay spot. A little close to the river, but actually really close to where I wanted him so I was very happy! c:

I got the gold one weeks ago, and see about two silver ones floating by everyday. I don't bother shooting down balloons anymore because I have the entire balloon set and it is pretty worthless on the retail board.
