Snorlax is from gen 1. It has a prevo in a *later* generation - munchlax. Much later - gen 4 if I'm not mistaken...

Well, they didn't exactly say it was evolved from a gen 1 pokemon. They just said the actual one was gen 1

they did... they said it was an evolution of a gen 1 pok?mon here: '*Ahem* it's an evoultution of a pokemon in first generation.' but on the original post it does say its an evolution of another pok?mon and is in gen 1....
