Gold Leaf?

When I got my sloppy sofa customized by Cyrus, instead of the usual red leaf it has been showing up as, it was gold colored.

Why?

actually I remember some being red and some being gold, so if it's not in random order than maybe it's because one is part of a set and another is just a random item? I'm just guessing, I'd also like to know this too

Yup. I wanted to give a table to a friend for her to take home and customize and I couldn't give it to her. I had to take it to cyrus and have him restore it to original condition and give it to her the next day!

Oh. Probably because if use your own design you can't give it to others because they don't have your design.

I've found that you can't order items that have been customized from the Happy Home Showcase either. I had quite a few street passes, ans some of their furniture I had been looking for, but because of the alteration, it wasn't even on the order list. That was frustrating.

Customized as in... just a colour change (e.g. Rococo regular -> gothic yellow)? Or adding a specific custom pattern (e.g. adding a custom cloth pattern)?

Regardless, that's certainly very interesting....

That's pretty dumb. If a friend takes furniture you customized with a design home, it should be restored to it's normal state instead. They shouldn't make it how you can't give it to them just because it's customized with a pattern. Also, for the Happy Home Showcase, any furniture that has been customized should still be able to be ordered, it will just be in it's original state. Not allowing the player to order something from a person's house because it's been remade is absolutely stupid. What the heck were they thinking?

that's what we thought would happen - that the design would just vanish off it. But instead I had to remove the design. Annoying but now I know I have to do it at least.

And yeah, I really hate that I can't order anything from happy homes if it's been changed! (windfall - I think any change prevents you from ordering it, not just a custom design.)

Agreed. I wanted a lamp from a home in my HHS and I couldn't because it was customized...

As far as I can tell, any customization prevents people from ordering it. BUT I think you shouldn't feel bad, this is something Nintendo should have done differently. I don't feel annoyed at the person, they are making their house look nice! You should make your house look the way you like!!

It is Nintendo's issue. I am hoping they post some sort of update to fix this so the pattern is simply removed, making the item basic again if you take it or try to order it.
