When I first started playing I didn't know about paths. I didn't have one and I loved the way that it seemed like a forest kind of. But then I got friends and one of them came over to my town and said that it looks bad and I needed a path so people will know where to go. Well I laid them down and never liked them since but I thought that's what everyone does, but now that I have some more friends that are newer to the game and they don't have paths, and I love the way their town looks with no path.
What I'm wondering, is does everyone use paths? I don't do the dream town thing. I saved my town once and never used it since, and I'm thinking of erasing all paths. I feel like it restricts where I can place some things. I mean, I can see placing something around my flowers so no one runs over them, and something to block how far bamboo goes, but everything else, I dunno, what do u guys think? Does everyone use a path? Is it really needed?

I hate doing paths, I love the natural look of the town, always had my towns that way since getting ACWW, itss far too much effort to be putting paths down, forcing people to walk on paths etc

I have paths laid out in my town and I personally love having paths in my own town, but I also really like the natural look and I certainly wouldn't say a town can't look good if it doesn't have paths.

My paths are dirt roads. I just put flowers to mark where I have "paths". I'm trying to get mushrooms and Jacob's ladders at the very edges so that the flowers don't reproduce onto my paths

Ok thanks for responding. The way the girl put it, it just made me think that my town would look bad without them, but I'm finding it to be hard figuring out where to put my trees and stuff because the path. I'm going to erase them. I've never liked them, just kept them cause I thought that's what everyone else does.

Honestly, I've had paths and while I like the way they look (for the most part) in my all-bunny town, I have also erased the paths in my original town because it just made my town look so messy. I'll probably lay down something for my main areas, like the town hall, caf? and the like, but that's kind of a big maybe.

For those people who have EVERYTHING in perfect alignment, I can see how paths would make the town look nicer, but for the rest of us, I think the natural look is best.

i have dirt paths, i'm not a fan of patterns because as pretty as many of them are they just don't look good imo, especially the water ones. just way too fake looking for my tastes.

I'm making clover paths! I generally find that paths make my town look a little too busy and cluttered, and really prefer that natural, woodsy feel. ^^

I don't have any paths and never have. However, I think they are beautiful!

Too much work. I just like putting down a path near buildings because I think it makes it look a little bit nicer. I did have a path going to my town center tree thingy though.
If you like your town the way it is, keep it like that. You don't need to impress anyone but yourself.

Do what you want to do, really. I like paths and have them in my town, because they help me with overall layout and putting my pwp's/trees/bushes etc, althought I have hard time choosing one with more "neutral/natural" look, as I don't really like all hot-pink, rainbow-colored, mish-mash of patterns and designs on my roads as some people have in their towns (some looks really nice and I respect time that someone put into laying them down but I prefer my paths/grass/water patterns being toned-down).
All in all, it's no one else's town but yours.

paths are actually great IMO. if you want a path but not something from a QR code, maybe try going for a dirt path. just run on the area you want the dirt path to appear repeatedly everyday and the grass will wear down. towns without paths are plain IMO.

100% agree with this. The only times I've thought qr paths looked good were in duped towns where everything is perfectly lined up and every inch of the town is planned out. Other than that they look really fake and tacky to me. I use bushes and flowers to lay out paths that become dirt paths overtime. I had qr paths in my last town but I like this much more!

i don't think i'm going to have many qr paths in my second town, i'll just have dirt paths. in my main town i have paths though, i just really like having paths there so y eah.

My town doesn't have paths. I just don't like having paths in my town, although I'm pretty good at putting down paths and decorating towns. ;) For me, it just feels strange. However, I do go to the Dream Suite sometimes and check out some pretty cool towns with paths in them. I don't think paths are necessary. I guess it's just based on preference. :)

I had paths in my old town but in my new town I don't, I like my new town a LOT better also.

If I was to put any patterns down in this town it would be a few round large stone patterns that look natural and just fill in some space like clovers and mushrooms do :)

Before I got NL, I didn't have paths in any of my towns.

Now I do, and I think my town looks more organised because of it. I made the paths in my town myself, but I've seen some paths out there that look amazing, especially ones with stairs and water paths. Like, seriously, how do you make those?!

I like seeing towns without paths, though. It kinda makes them feel more open, and it feels like you have more freedom on where you can walk.

XD I know, there are some super amazing paths out there and I'm just like...bruh. I tried making paths, but it always ends up in a disaster lol. :p
