glitched (?) villager interiors

i gave bluebear one umbrella; when i visit her house there are THREE of the same umbrellas on display..... does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? this has happened multiple times with the same villager and no one else

Bluebear must have liked the umbrella so much that she went and bought two more just to display in her house. I'd be happy that she liked my gift that much.

Jokes aside, that is indeed strange, though this is the first time I've ever heard of it happening. Sorry I can't be of actual help, so I hope you find out what is causing it.

oh, i've had this happen too! i gave fang a captain's hat but for some reason there's two on display in his house. maybe it only happens with equippables? i've given him two pieces of furniture since but neither of them have replaced the hats :/

edit: he's also someone i scanned in with an amiibo if that has anything to do with it (yet another amiibo glitch? shocking.)
was your bluebear scanned in with an amiibo too?

was your bluebear scanned in with an amiibo too?

i don't think so! she moved after i invited her from someone's island, but i have someone who was from another island's amiibo (and moved out naturally) but this glitch doesn't seem to happen.

i also don't think this is a thing for just equippables! i previously gave bluebear a blue toilet and she displayed two of them in her house and it looked really funny; they were then replaced by the multiple umbrellas.

It happened for me too but for one of my starting villagers. Gave Bill a panda bear and he has two on display at his home weird indeed!
