So I was eavesdropping on a conversation that Cookie and Marina were having, and it was normal talk about Cookie giving Marina advice. All of a sudden, Cookie started saying Marina's lines then Marina was saying Cookie's. It went like this the whole way through the conversation. The funniest part was Marina acting all sassy...

Has anyone had this happen before?

No, I always get the glitch where my villagers will mix up one another's genders. And that's really awkward at times.

That happen to me once back in my old town of Treeroot.

Needless to say, I was both shocked and laughing at this at the same time.

Yeah I get it too lol always think it's funny how they just flip flop

I always get the glitch where my villagers will say one another's catchphrases, for no good reason! :( It happens all the time just on random days and I don't know why! I get Merengue saying "mwee" and Marina saying "mimi"

That may not be a glitch. Villagers regularly steal/learn catchphrases from one another. They also borrow each others clothes. This is why I'm never going to give any of my villagers a silly catchphrase ever again. Once I told Broffina to say "cluck cluck" and then every single other villager in my town started saying it, even Genji! Rabbits don't go "cluck cluck" ! Grrrr

Well, they do trade catchphrases. If you see them talking and they walk off singing, chances are one has now copied the other's catchphrase. That's completely normal and not a glitch. If they only say the catchphrase once and then go back to their own without asking you first, it's a glitch I've never seen.

Ah ok :0 Thank you for explaining!!! Is there anyway to prevent that from happening? I really like it when my villagers are original >_<

The only way to stop it is to not be outside for long. When you are doing things outside is when villagers get up to mischief like exchanging clothes or catchphrases. If you actually want to enjoy the game the way it's intended to be played, though, just wait until they ask for a new catchphrase and give them their original one.

It happened with Lolly and Paula. Lolly was teaching Paula how to be tough.
It freaked me out to see Miss Lolly talking and acting that way.

This actually isn't a glitch, but rather an error with translation. ( Japanese pronouns don't always translate perfectly into English.)
