Gigas Giant Clam, Giant Isopod, and Vampire Squid

got the giga clamb, gonna mess with the clock soon so i can get the squid. Currently travelled back to june so dont have to wait a year for those spawns and can spend the rest of the hearts i needed to

i must have gotten a lazy isopod bc it took me about 15 seconds to catch it lol, lucked out with that one! i don’t mind the challenge tbh it’s part of the fun of diving. soooo glad they don’t escape past the net now though. that was such a bummer in new leaf.

Lmao I just realised you can sneak up on those things if you swim without pressing A, it is exactly like sneaking up on bugs...

Edit: nevermind. It really seemed to work that one time, but not on the one I am chasing now

i got them all yesterday! the best method is to kinda "doggy paddle" near them without pressing A, then dive and spam A to follow it

After some further investigation, yes, it does work

I've caught all three, but not without a symphony of button mashing and patience. The Isopod rounded out my list for July.

are these guys seasonal or are they all available now? according to my nook miles app I've caught about 300 creatures by now, 3 of which were giant gigas clams (and one of which was a pearl lol) but I haven't seen the other two despite going after every shadow I see. are they just like, really really rare?

Omg you have all blown my mind that they don't go under the nets!! I managed 2 GIGACLAMS and 1 vampire squid but I kept trying to herd them away from the net because I was sure they'd escape after all my years of new leaf ahahaha. You all have changed EVERYTHING.

I managed to catch one Gigas Clam before figuring out the net thing.

Those things are annoyingly fast, but I had fun.

I have yet to come across any of these and I'm already terrified. All I catch are anemones and sea grapes :/
