Gifts for villagers that won't ruin their houses?

I'm a bit obsessed with keeping my villager's houses original, but are there any good gifts I could send to them in the mail that won't ruin them? Would flowers work? I keep a full re-tail with overpriced items, and never do any requests that don't involve fruit (though I do always feel bad about rejecting them )

I want to give them presents while still maintaining their house properly. In my last town, everyone's houses were full of fossils, bugs and random furniture that didn't fit.

I think if you send them flowers they'll just put them in their house as a flower pot (but don't quote me on that). I believe fruit is safe to send in the mail though!

Yeah, wallpaper and flooring is safe, as they can't change it.

When I had Stu in my town, he got kiddie carpet from Jingle, and never displayed it.

If you want to change their music, give them another K.K. song. ^_^

Yep! ^_^

I googled it last week, and everyone said 'no', they won't change it.

Others were unsure, even in results for this forum, so I tested it myself.

I sent Lucky K.K. to Wolfgang, and that's all he plays now. Even when I replaced his stereo with a different one, it stayed on Lucky K.K. ^_^

I like to give them plants and food items. Next letter/gift go-round I'm giving them all candy from Zipper Day. Gotta get rid of it somehow, right? (Hey, Mikey, he likes it!)

I think many if not all the plant items look pleasant with any kind of interior style so I always give those to my villagers when they're in need of new furniture. They look nice and don't take that much space either.

I never worry about how their home interiors look. When sending gifts, I just go according to their birthday lists. Keeps them very, very happy friends.

I say, you should first get a glimpse of their house. See what kind of theme it is and what colors it is. try to look up some furniture and see if it would match their house.

I gave Chai (Sanrio Character) a Princess bed, because her house was Cinnamoroll theme, and the colors were mostly pastel blue, pastel yellow, pastel pink, and white. Since the Princess bed is a baby-blueish/pastel blueish color, I decided to give it to her.
