gifting villagers changed during update?

hey guys iv'e noticed every time i give my villagers a wraped non native fruit i Always get cloths, rarely i get an item.
before this 1.3 update i used to get either bells or an item/cloths now everytime after gifting i have 10 new cloths in my pockets.
did u experience this also?

Another small change was the dialog
they changed the dialog from"this is for you" to "heres a gift"

i think something changed in the gifting. i hope someone will datamine this subject

I've always got clothes for gifting - getting an item in return for me is super rare. It's only happened to me twice since the game came out. Except for gifting by mail, then it all items in return.

I don't think this has changed since the update because I've almost always been getting clothes in return (an ungodly amount of striped shirts... idk why my villagers love giving me this)

I get either bells or clothes when I give them fruits. Then just clothes when I give them iron wall lamps/hanging terrariums. I don't even remember if I've ever gotten furniture from them in return.

I mostly get clothes for wrapped non-native fruit. I got a football from Cookie yesterday, so you can definitely still get non-clothing during gifting. I think it was yesterday that I also got a judge's bell from one of my villagers while gifting. I remember thinking it was strange to get two non-clothing items in one day, as that's not usually the case for me.
