Giant Trevally and Mahi-Mahi do not exist...!

I've been doing 20 bait tosses a day as to not burn myself out spending hours on end digging up clams and crafting bait since the start of June and I still haven't found either one. Also... yes, I know they appeared in May, I was just super lazy in May since I spent most of May terraforming and working on hybrids.

Giant trevally was the bane of my existence for me. I spent hours digging up clams for bait and fishing off the pier and nothing. Finally got it at the end of last month.

For me it’s the piranha. I’m not sure they actually live in my rivers. Either that or I’m using the wrong bait.

They were pretty easy for me to find to be honest. I found both within 30 bait.

The Mahi Mahi took FOREVER for me too, I have never had so much trouble trying to catch a fish in AC. I was crafting 10-40 pieces of bait each day over like 10 days. I finally dedicated an entire Saturday to JUST get this fish, and I got it in the last 10 minutes before I went to bed. Spawn rates have gotten really unbalanced, it's super weird. They've really messed with the bug rates too

An event that takes 5 minutes to complete will last 2 weeks so no one misses out, but fish/bugs will not spawn after tens of hours of dedicated searching... Nintendo please

The trevally is definitely less common than the Mahi. And both are less common than the tuna and marlin ever were. I used to catch tuna and marlin pretty often...but the summer fish are a pain.

Found mahi-mahi first day it came out and none after. Great trevally was two days ago! And I got two in a day... I really do like fishing on the pier lol it's always squid or sea bass </3

I only caught a mahi-mahi once. I don't know if my brother or I caught a giant trevally. I don't even remember. Sometimes I feel like fish bait isn't the answer. I had a harder time finding a great white shark with fish bait than I did without it.

My theory is that pier fish are even harder to get with fish bait since fish bait can also attract regular sea fish.

Your Mahi Mahi is my Char. It took 150+ bait, and I've still only managed to catch one. And yes, I know they're no longer in season.

I was lucky to catch the mahi-mahi. I kept seeing people talking about that fish, so I made fish bait one day, went over to the dock, and it was the first fish that showed up. I caught a char a while back, but I don't remember when that happened. I just saw a fish and threw out the line. I didn't even know chars were tough to get.
