ghibli town villager ideas?

im making a studio ghibli themed town, and im not super happy with a couple villager choices. i wanna hear advice from you guys.

the current villager choices i have and why are:

beau: beau looks like yakul from princess mononoke
kiki: shes literally a reference to kiki's delivery service. how could i not
coco: she reminds me of the kodamas from mononoke!
whitney: shes a white wolf. literally moro
fang: hes a nod to moros' wolf kids (also i just needed a cranky as theyre my favourite personality type lmao)
stitches: a living teddy bear! how ghibli is that!
drago: haku. need i say more
rod: hes really the only mouse villager that looks close to the mouse form of the baby from spirited away other than candi, and i already have a peppy and needed a jock (i also like rod's design more)
ruby: she reminded me of the little white totoros, and i also really needed a peppy.....
julian: his is...interesting. hes a reference to the last unicorn, which isnt a ghibli film, but was animated by a lot of the people who worked on nausicaa and some of their staff would later go on to form studio ghibli's animation team.

yeah, those are the villagers thus far. i know a lotta these are mononoke references but as long as it ties in to the ghibli theme im town. i wanna replace stitches and fang, but can't really think of any villagers that would be good replacements.

im thinking of maybe trading fang with curt, as curt is about the closest appearance wise to totoro and i would still have a cranky, but im down for any ideas y'all have.

To replace Fang and Sitches:

- Octavian (he’s the only “underwater” cranky villager and reminds me of Fujimoto, Ponyo’s father, from “Ponyo.” His red coloring matches Fujimoto as a red-head a little bit too.)
- Benjamin (he could be a reference to Heen, the dog from “Howl’s Moving Castle.” Plus, he’s a lazy villager and Heen is very lazy, haha.)

Chops could be Porco Rosso in your town.You could have him wear something beige like the explorer tee to kind of match Porco Rosso's flight suit.

hi, I also have a ghibli themed island and these are the villagers I chose
Lolly- something about her features give me Sophie vibes
Melba- her round face and eyes make her look like Chihiro
Croque- looks like the frog worker in Spirited Away
Felicity- red hair and facial expression makes me think of Arietty
