Getting villagers out

I can remember that there was a trick that got villagers out quickly and it was something along the lines of TTing 2 years, TT 2 years again then TT 5 days forward and one should be moving out and one should be moving in. I think you've got to start this when there is a villager in boxes.

Is that correct or does someone know the proper way?

well I used this method when I had a cycling town but I can't remember what it was. Just wanting to quickly get some villagers out and put others on my other ds
