Getting villagers out of the AWFUL Someone from Anyone clothes...

Is there a secret to getting them out of the awful orange or white shirts STAT? Does anyone have luck when sending them clothing items off their birthday lists? This time I was smarter and removed all the starter clothes from the Able sisters on day one. But I have a villager moving in wearing one of them and I don't want the virus to start, lol.

I typically just mail them clothes or carry clothes around in my inventory and make them ping me.
The latter doesn't always work, but it works sometimes.
I have better luck with mailing them clothes.
But it's still kind of a hit or miss, sometimes they just display it in their house...

I don't know if there's any way to make them change guaranteed.
I just filled able sisters with two different T-Shirt designs for them to wear.
I've seen that they really like to get your clothes designs? I don't know if there's a mechanic in the game for that or not but whenever I have put a design in the Able's, they seems to really love getting it and showing it off to me later.

If you aren't good at designing clothes, you can use this: Tool here, it allows you to show how a pattern is made and you can copy it and then display it.
You will have to crop out just the QR code if it isn't just the QR code (some clothes patterns have the pattern and the QR code).

well the easy way would be going to isabelle and tell her that you dont like the shirt of the villager

You could send them a shirt and then tell Isabelle you don't like their outfit and that should help...encourage them to change xD

No. If you do that they will change their shirt to one of the gym tees. If you want a villager to change back to their default shirt you'd have to mail it to them or try to get them to ping and take it from you.

Tip: Just change all the shirts on display to umbrellas and sell your stuff in retail for 99k bells. It'll keep them original.

I complained to Isabelle about Julian's Moldy Shirt and he never changed his shirt. I complained about 4 days in a row and nothing. I read someone's post about mailing a villager a shirt at 4:58pm and staying in the shopping center until 5:00pm. Then going to town and checking if the villager changed the shirt. There's a 50% chance they'll change but Julian changed his shirt. I tried it again with Skye and Fang, only Fang changed his shirt. So, I guess it works. Maybe try that.

I've never heard of this trick! I'm not having the default shirt virus in my town (though it's the ducky tank in most of my towns, not the orange shirt), but I really want to customize my villagers and put them into shirts that fit them and the theme of my town better, so I'll have to try this.

i think complaining to isabelle only works for a design made by someone else.

For anyone else having troubles, the villagers are *much* more likely to change their clothes if you send them something from their favorite style. Their favorite styles (and colors) can be found here:
