Today, for the first time, my game got stuck while saving. It would stay on the "Saving. Please don't press the x button" thing, with the blue circle making noise and circling, but it would not save. I had to turn it off. Opened the game, played a little, tried to save once again, it took a bit longer than usual but it saved. Now, I tested once again, opened the game, then walked around for a few seconds and saved. It got stuck again.

I have the physical copy.

My 3DS is also acting a bit weirdly? I took the cartridge off and the ac logo disappeared, however, on the bottom screen it didn't change anything. Only when I closed/opened it or used another game/app, opened the internet browser/fc list etc. When putting the cartridge back, it would only recognize when closing/opening the 3DS, or using the other methods mentioned above.

I'm... quite scared really. I'm now afraid to play (don't want to corrupt my file) and I'm afraid that my 3DS is going to stop working. I can't afford another one ):

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, I hope it is.

This happened to me before. The saving feature getting stuck. I had to force quit a game during it. Nothing happened though. How long were you playing your game for?

The DS I use, that this happened to. Actually is pretty old and sometimes the top screen goes black. So I assumed it was because its reaching its end point.

Mine goes black too everyonce in a while.

At least your 3DS isn't broken in half. (Give mine another month or so before it is broken)

Mine did that once, also a physical copy. I'd played several hours without saving. Before I saved, the battery started to blink, so I plugged the console in and saved right after. It kept going and going for over a minute. I was too scared to corrupt the save by turning it off as it was saving, so I just left it alone while I got a drink. Five minutes plus I was gone and when I came back: Save complete! It's done it once since, but I just let it do it's thing. I try and save more often--every hour or so--while I play.

I have the game release I think, June 12th?

Oh man don't say that he was working perfectly until now ;_; bought him at release date too (2010?2011?)

wow o_o That happened with two DS lites in my house (my sister's and mine, that she broke too lol)

Switch off the wifi switch when it takes long
will try doing that next time, thank you!!!

Wow, maybe I should've left it alone, I gave it like 3 minutes I think before turning it off, it was making me nervous ):

Weird thing is, in both times, I didn't play a lot. It was a few minutes in the first one and a few seconds in the second one. On weekends I play several hours a day (12/14 if it's a long weekend sometimes), and it never took this long. ):

I also had this once, last week even. My 3dsxl is a little bit over a year old, and I have a digital copy.
It was already stuck on the saving screen for 2 minutes, and I got scared too XD I closed my ds so it would go to standby mode. I waited for the blue light to slowly flicker (so certain it went standby) and when I opened my ds ACNL was done saving :)

But I do hope, for all of us, it will never happen again!

My game's starting to do this. I have a physical copy though so idk if there's a difference. I was playing last week and the game took 2 minutes to save. I didn't know what to do since it never did that before. It at least saved though, so I just powered down the system and then started up the game and "updated", and everything has been fine ever since. Saves like normal, just sometimes when I try to read the re-tail/bulletin boards or when villagers come into my house uninvited it would wait for like 5 seconds with the bubble paused and I can't do anything but then it returns to normal. It's kinda scary and weird.

My friends DSi got chewed by a dog.

Anyway, I had that happen in my City Folk. It was there for at least 10 minutes saving. I was scared. I'd rather turn off the power than having my screen linger. (But, my 3DS is too smart to corrupt :p)

This is what I do when my 'saving' gets stuck, as soon as the wifi is off, it works fine. It happens maybe once a week for me, it started a couple of months ago. No idea why! I have a physical copy too.

I had this problem a few weeks after the game came out. And like others have mentioned, flipping the wifi off worked for me, too. We got a new router a couple of weeks later, and it hasn't happened since.

hmm this happened to me once before so I resetted and the game worked fine

update: I transferred my pictures to my computer, and deleted all the pictures on the 3ds camera; also deleted a few demos i won't play anymore and... everything is so much faster. including saving.

so my issues was apparently only "you have way too much stuff on your sd card", whoops.
