Does anyone know how to get a villager to move off island? I’m trying to get rid of Huck because I don’t like smug villagers (or the frog villagers). He was my first campsite villager so I had to accept him but I don’t want him! Currently have him caged into the confines of his home away from everyone else, I’ve hit him with my net, I never talk to him or gift him and I’ve spoken to Isabelle about him and HES STILL HERE. please help me

The best way to do so is to ignore him. Or you can replace him.
oh my god i went thru this exact ordeal!!! i had huck as my camper and i was so upset i couldn’t wait for someone else LOL.
i ended up just completely icing him out and he still took his sweet time to get off my island. so, i think just pretend like u can’t see him
okay thanks guys haha he’s fenced into a small area around his house away from all the other villagers so hopefully he wants to leave soon. Also he has fleas and I still won’t help him

Abusing your villagers isn't cool js, especially since it does literally nothing except expose you as mean. Unless you're willing to time travel or have an amiibo, then you'll just have to keep ignoring him until he asks to go. Villagers with low friendship are slightly more likely to ask to move out, but it's still up to random chance.
For the actual numbers, there's a cooldown period of at least 15 days after letting someone leave before someone else will want to move out. If you tell someone to stay when they want to go, the cooldown period is only 5 days before it's possible for a villager to ask to move.

I thought if you had a random camper and asked them to move in they could replace any of your villagers not the one you want to leave? I like the other villagers I have, just not Huck so I don’t want to lose the others, and Ive tried time travel but it still hasn’t worked. I guess I’ll keep waiting for him to ask to leave. Thank you!

Its literally an AI and I’m not the only one who’s done it, I actually got the ideas to try all of that from youtubers and when it didn’t work that’s why I posted on here (considering I just started playing this month) All my other villagers are taken care of and happy, but thanks for the help!
Yeah actually you can get the random camper to kick out whoever you want. I have done that multiple times. When he says the name of the villager you want to keep, just force quit without saving immediatly, don’t finish the dialog. Open the game and start the process again until the camper says Huck’s name
