It's been over a year since the last new pwp request from any of my villagers. Still a bunch of benches, lights, bridges etc that I can't access. I've been trying the diving trick for weeks and getting nowhere, does anyone know of a more reliable method to get the villagers to ping me for a new project?

Some items can only be requested by certain villager types (e.g. the wooden bridge can only be suggested by cranky villagers). Are the pwps you are missing able to be requested? Do you have the correct villager type for the pwps you are looking for?

Don't have any items on you so they won't try to buy what you're carrying.

But that doesn't stop them from trying to give me stuff or sell to me. Been carrying unopened presents and shells
If you're trying to get requests for bridges, make sure that you don't have 3 built in your town already. If so, demolish one and you should start getting bridge requests again. The villagers won't suggest any new bridge PWPs if you're at the max amount.
I'd suggest getting multiples of the species who has the project you want to suggest, and either befriend them, or do the diving trick (with all of them outside at once.)
