Cycling Getting Back Pate and Midge

Pate and Midge were two of my originals and it are some of my all time fave, but temptation won one day and I decided to time travel too much. So when I came back, Pate was no longer there and Midge was in boxes. I've become used to my new villagers, but I want them back. Anyone knows how?
