Getting back into AC:NL

So, I'm getting back into AC:NL. My 3DS was stolen when I let my child take it with her on a trip, so luckily Nintendo gave me all my games back! No save data, just the games, so I started my town over again.

I'm at work so I can't do any screenshots, but my town has a river in the middle, The ocean is on the right with 1 really long beach and 2 entrances. One entrance right by re-tail shop! All of my villagers *I have 9 because that same child decided to TT into January and was playing as a resident in my town* live on the right hand side. It's really bizarre. Other than that, I'm happy with everything. I spent about an hour picking TT weeds, and I had to forbid my child from TT at all, since she is irresponsible with it. I hate weed picking.

I think I'm going to go for a pink/white theme. I have about 500 TBT saved so hopefully I can work into that.

Oh, and Merengue is in my town as a starter! That was really cool. Also, I have 3 dogs...not sure why.

My town is called Hatred, and it's hilarious in context.

I'm really excited to be back! Anyone have any information on what's happened in the last year?

Not information so much, but if I have any extra pink roses I'll be sure to send them your way. They haven't really done any updates or changes to the gameplay... Have fun and make sure to ask questions if you have them!

how did you get Nintendo to give you all of your games? do they have an insurance plan or something?

fyi- If you enact the Beautiful Town ordinance, then starting on the following day when it goes into effect, you won't get weeds or dead flowers anymore when time-travelling.

well other than all of the usual holidays and events, members here reported that when loading the game on February 29th, Isabelle commented that it was Leap Day this year...

that sucks that it got stolen, but wow, nintendo gave you all the games back + a new 3ds? to second king dad's post, did you have some kind of insurance or something or did they give it to you discounted...? either way, it's really awesome you got everything back.

i love your town name though, i can only imagine how it sounds when isabelle and the villagers talk about it. and 500 tbt will get you plenty these days, don't worry, and hybrids usually go for 1-2 tbt, so you can get lots of landscaping for your town done easily. other than leap day, nothing different went on in the game, so you didn't really miss much. good luck with your new town! ​
