I heard that when a villager move, when you get him/her back their home interior stays the same as it was when they moved out. Is it true?

I'm thinking about doing some cycling to move out my favorite villagers (their houses are A MESS) and then getting them back (after the 16 villager cycle), but my friend told me their home interior would be the same...

If you cycle to get back your original villager (as in, move your exact villager to another town, cycle 16 out, and then invite your exact former villager back in, then yes, their house will be the same as it was at the moment you invited them back.

If you move out a villager, cycle 16 out, and then invite a brand new version of the wanted villager in (for example, you invite a Eugene from someone's town, but not the same Eugene you used to have), then their house should be the default. I do not know with 100% certainty, but that's what I've heard.

It's that their home will be whatever it looked like in whatever town you get the villager from. So as stated above if it's the exact one you had and someone was holding them for you then their home will be however you left them plus any additional changes from play they may have experienced while in their holding town. HOWEVER if you void the villager then get them as 100% original from someone else entirely then they will come to you brand new with whatever their original stuff is and with no recollection of having been in your town previously. (If you get back your exact one they'll "know" you and that they've been with you before)

Thanks for the information. I plan to get a 100% original/new Eugene, so I guess he'll come with his default home! :)
