as others have said, the ignoring method generally doesnt work. i always use the befriend method now. i generally TT 3 days and look for a ping, but since it was starting to become 4 days, i just started going 4. i would suggest keeping it at 3 until youre more confident, however. good luck!

Create a new human character. Get the new human character to have a house. Before the house, and with the new human character establishing residence, have him/her say "hello" to everyone including Marshal. After the house is built, have the new human character talk with all villagers with exception of Marshal. Do gradual TT's in one-day increments. After about a week, Marshal should ping your town's Mayor to inform him/her of moving.

This is not guaranteed. But it can work it out in such numerous attempts to move out the villager you're wanting to leave.
