I am having trouble getting Marshal to leave. I need him in boxes today so I can trade him away for Bertha! (Yes, I am trading such a popular villager for a big, fat, blue hippo!)

But need some help. Which works better the 'befriend method' or the 'ignore method'?

nobody really cares all that much that youre trading marshal for bertha lmao

but the befriend method has always worked for me, and if you ignore him he will still eventually move but they wont ping you about it after a week of ignoring, so if youre not voiding him befriend method would be best.

Also I recommend going 3 days forward and then back to the current date. That usually gets me a ping and is really quick

Both have worked pretty well for me, so I can't really say which worked better. But I think the befriend method is bit better, since even if you ignore, they might take a long time to ping. :|

You're expecting a reaction from people by posting that you're making the trade i nthe first place.. We're ALL aware of your hatred of Marshal, you've posted it in many different threads, many, many times.

Regardless, I personally use the ignore method (but I talk to them every now and again and reject the conversation, just so they're actually able to ping)

yea, exactly! sometimes I feel like ami just gets so many low tier villagers so he can talk about how much better they are than marshal. either way, they still take extra measures to talk about how they dont like marshal as much as possible.

also talk to him until he wont talk to you anymore each time before tting, that usually helps, and he might notify you if anyone else is moving.

We know you hate marshal. And we know you want him out. Even if you are asking a question, this thread seems like it was made more for you to hate marshal.

It works both ways for me. I don't keep track though, so I have no idea which one works faster than the other.

On the other topic, the hate comments shouldn't have been posted in the first place, everyone has their personal opinion on villagers. I have a few popular animals in my town that I don't like, but I only post about them on the appropriate thread-like the ones on your Least Favorite and such.

You simply ask which method is better we don't need a give to help give you that type of advice.
Everytime you make a thread you always mention marshal even if it has nothing to do with him, there's nothing wrong with it but doing that constantly can get on peoples nerves.

Anyway i use the ignore method it works for me.

The ignore method works best for me! Although I accidentally talked to Charlise while in a convo with Vladimir and he pinged me to leave so minimal talking works too I guess.
