Basically genetic engineering is messing around with an organisms DNA for research, ecological, or economical reasons.
Some examples of genetic engineering are: Tomato- engineered to increase shelf live (time before it goes bad) and avoid bacteria Transparent Frogs- used to obvious research reasons Glofish- fish that glow under certain lights, meant for research but became a comment pet probably sold at one of your local fish stores Bananas- a fungus has been recently attacking many banana plantations and genetic engineering may be an easy solution
There are other examples where genetic engineering modifies food to provide different vitamins and some even vaccines! Others, like strawberries, are modified to become larger providing more fruit.
There are people who say genetic engineering goes against their religious views but without knowing it they eat genetically engineered foods! Others claim that they can harm ecosystems when really most genetically engineered organisms are monitored and never released, some are made to have special reproductive environments too.
So, what are your thoughts on genetic engineering?
Also should humans be able to be genetically engineered?

Uhh.. Aren't all bananas already been geneticly modified? And the problem is since all the DNA is the same, the tree fungus harming the banana trees, is really killing them all off. That's why the price of the banana is estimated to go up in a couple of years, because of the lack of them we will have in the future :r
