I am looking for ways to add more greenery to my island does anyone have inspiration?

I love utilizing weeds in empty spaces! It makes an area seem more lush- perfect for my forest!!
I also like planting bamboo and cutting it, so it's just the base height/layer, I think it looks very cute.
Also, leaving around random flowers can also help, like picking the blossom from the stem, and dropping those around.
Custom designs can be a great way to add little touches!
Best of luck! <3
Iirc, weeds can affect your island rating along with the dropped flowers if you are looking to get lily of the valley. You can also put down custom designs with little flowers or use the potted plant furniture
Yeah that's true I have a 5 star island so I don't want it to go down in value but I like the potted plant idea thank youIirc, weeds can affect your island rating along with the dropped flowers if you are looking to get lily of the valley. Thank you very much for your inspirationAhh I love making little flower gardens for my villagers. I also agree that weeds in the garden makes it feel fuller, especially when inserted between stepping stones around your main flower beds. I've used tall weeds almost everywhere on my island and I've maintained a 5star rating this whole time so I'm not sure at what point it'll drop but I just manage weed spread manually/daily. This is pretty common but I do think flower beds look nicer with some dirt underneath. That or having the grass that the flowers are on surrounded by pathing to make it obvious that it's a flower bed.
Here are some of my villager's gardens:

Cyd's simple 2x2 with some weeds in the path. This area is supposed to look kind of overgrown and trashy.

Freya has a fancier garden because she owns a flower shop. Another thing you could do is use the flower umbrellas rotated towards us so it looks like a giant flower. You could use other flower items as well.

Jambette has two little flowerbeds. One is a 2x2 up front and another is a 1x2 with a bamboo bench behind it with space to put other potted plants.

Scoot and Ursala's flowerbeds. I like to put other plants or stools, etc. on the dirt path itself. Btw with the new update you can put watering cans on top of low stools/tables so you could utilise that as well!

That is a good idea I always hated seeing an empty floor by the treesI put several leaf piles half-behind trees. It masks the square shape of the piles, but it gives some depth to a small group of trees and fills it in without keeping me from being able to walk through.
I'll have to swap out the green ones, once the weather changes, but these work for spring and summer.
