Looking for recommendations for any platform, specifically the switch. I haven't played many Nintendo games so tell me some of your favorites!

Yoku's Island Express is a cute game perfect for when you are feeling down.

If you like RPGs, Undertale is surprisingly good and short enough that you want to do multiple playthroughs because it has different endings.

1. Pokemon lets go pikachu/eevee is super fun (and great for people who are new to pokemon)! You get to catch and train a team of 6 pokemon to battle 8 gyms and the "elite four," while also exploring the region (caves, forests, oceans) of "kanto."

2. Luigis mansion is also a really fun game!! Its about Luigi (Marios brother) who goes to a "haunted" mansion with his friends and has to rescue them from the head ghost lady (but its not scary at all so dont worry), so you basically go around exploring the hotel by floor and solving puzzles, and fighting ghosts!

3. I have also heard from a friend that stardew valley is a good game for people who like animal crossing. She told me that in the game you own a farm (I think) with crops and animals (idk the details, but im sure you could look it up!)

I'm not big into Pokemon but I've heard good things so I think I should give it another shot. I've seen people stream Luigi's mansion a lot and it seems like a super fun game! (Also Stardew Valley is amazing! Your friend is right, many Animal Crossing players love Stardew. You should definitely look into it!)

if you like rpgs:
-dragon quest 11 is a fantastic jrpg with lots of charm and a really fun classic battle system!
-dragon quest builders 2 is a bit like minecraft in that you can use blocks and materials to build things, but it also has a pretty lengthy storyline and you have villagers who will live in your settlements, request things, use your facilities etc. which i found made me enjoy it more than minecraft!
-lots of the final fantasy games are on switch! classic jrpgs which can be pretty corny (and are older so if you can't stand outdated graphics, pass on these!) but i love them! 7 and 10 are my favourites and you can get them for ~15$ each
-breath of the wild is an obvious one but is incredible!
-fire emblem 3 houses is another suggestion you've probably heard about many times, it's a turn based strategy game (with many different levels of difficulty so you can make it super easy or much more challenging) with a lengthy story and multiple routes so you can definitely stretch to well over a hundred hoursokami!
-super mario odyssey! a great mario game with lots of new features, really fun overall
-okami! action adventure game with a beautiful visual style! (another one you can get for ~20$)

and if you wanna play with others: super smash bros ultimate and mario kart 8 are great choices!

Thanks for all the recommendations! I was actually planning on getting BOTW this weekend. ;) We'll see how it goes.

I hear that Yono and the Celestial Elephants was a pretty fantastic puzzle game. It's got a cute yet simple storyline, a well-thought out setting, and lovely art. You might like to try it out!

I can really appreciate a good art style, so I'll definitely see! :p

If you like platformers I'd definitely recommend Rayman Legends. One of the best games I've ever played. Wonderful art style, music, and level design. Definitely worth it!
